Jyotisha, the Vedic Astrology of India

Most of us are familiar with the Western system of Astrology that utilizes the planets of our Solar System and the twelve signs, or constellations –Aries, Taurus, Etc. The universe, including the solar system is constantly moving, with planets moving from one constellation to another, or changing signs. Believers in Astrology feel that each planet influences a particular aspect of life- Venus for love, Jupiter for money, etc. Furthermore, the sign/constellation in which the planet is located on a person’s date and time of birth has an impact on how that person would act and react: for example, a person with Venus in Aries is said to be impulsive in love, as compared to a person with Venus in conservative Capricorn, who may be status conscious and a bit cold. The angles that the planets in a person’s Astrological Chart make relative to their location have a further impact on the person’s character and makeup.

Jyotisha is the Hindu system of astrology. It is used primarily in India. The word derives from jyótis disjointed as "Ja"+"Ya"+"O"+"T"+"ish" to get the root meaning as "water or birth"+"in addition to" + "earth" and "stars" + "knowledgeable"-in other words, a person who is knowledgeable about birth in relation to the earth and stars. Whereas in Western Astrology it is believed that the gravitational fields and electro-magnetic forces of the planetary bodies are acting upon the individual, in Vedic Astrology, the planets themselves are "grahas", forces that seize or act upon people and influence their actions and life. Since Hindus believe in reincarnation, so there is the corresponding belief that humans have ups and downs in life because of karma, or debts from actions in past lives. Jyotish Astrology is used by many to understand the challenges in life due to the influence of planets, i.e., Navagraha and perform religious ceremonies to mitigate the bad karma. Another difference between the two systems is that the common system used in the West is based on the Tropical Zodiac, whereas Vedic Astrology is based on the Sidereal Zodiac.

Navagraha loosely means “nine planets”. The North Node and South Node of the Moon, known to Vedic Astrologers as Rahu and Ketu and the Sun and Moon are included in this group, and Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, the “modern planets” are excluded, probably because they were not visible to the naked eye of the ancient astronomers. The religious ceremonies most often include the use of a Yantra as a meditation tool. a Yantra is a picture, a symbolic representation of aspects of divinity. It is an interlocking matrix of geometric figures, circles, triangles and floral patterns that form fractal patterns of elegance and beauty. I have seen other symbols on Yantras as well, such as pictures or writing in Sanskrit. There are Yantras for each planetary body and for specific uses, such as attracting wealth, attracting love, preventing accidents, etc. Even though I am not Hindu, after a bad fall that left my arm permanently injured, I installed a Yantra in the corner of a room. There have been no more serious accidents in my home since its installation!

Today, Vedic Astrology is still commonly used in India to help make important decisions. In Hindu culture, newborns are traditionally named based on their jyotish charts, and jyotish concepts are pervasive in the organization of the calendar and holidays as well as in many areas of life and science. Astrology is vital to decisions made about marriage, opening a new business, and moving into a new home.

What is Vedic Astrology

Vedic Astrology is the study of positions of heavenly bodies like Sun, Moon, Mars etc. with respect to the zodiac and the interpretation of the effect of such heavenly bodies on the events in earth in the life of an individual or a country or the whole world. It is called Vedic Astrology, because the principles on which the study and interpretations are made were first enumerated in the 'Vedas' - the first treatise of ancient Hindu philosophy.

What is Zodiac?

What is Zodiac? If we imagine a path in the sky at approximately 18 degrees arc in the width encircling the earth in an east west direction, groups of stars will appear to be apparently fixed with respect to earth along this imaginary path. There are 27 groups of stars in the path which are recognized by Vedic Astrology. These groups of stars in the imaginary path are called zodiac. This zodiac forms the reference for fixing up the position of any planet or star in the sky. Since this zodiac is encircling the earth it can be measured as 360 degrees, where these 27 groups of stars are evenly placed, hence each of them have a span of 360 degrees/27 = 13 degrees 20' arc.

What are Zodiac Signs or Rashis?

When the zodiac is divided into 12 equal parts each having a span of 30 degrees arc, then each of this arc is called a zodiac sign. A sign, therefore, will consist of 2 ? groups of stars. A particular group of stars called Ashwini, in the zodiac is considered the starting point of the zodiac and is called the star no.1. Similarly, there are individual name for the 26 group of stars. Ashwini(1), Bharini(2), Krittika(3) are the first three stars in the zodiac. As stated earlier, the first span of 30 degrees arc in the zodiac will consist of Ashwini, Bharini and ? of Krittika constitute the first zodiac sign called 'Aries'. The name of the remaining 11 zodiac signs after 'Aries' are : Taurus(2), Gemini(3), Cancer(4), Leo(5), Virgo(6), Libra(7), Scorpio(8), Sagittarius(9), Capricorn(10), Aquarius(11) and Pisces(12).

What are Heavenly Bodies?

Influencing the events on earth Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu all loosely termed as planets, appear to revolve around the earth continuously while always staying within the limits of zodiac. Vedic astrology in the ancient text had recognized these 9 entities. Out of which, the Sun is a star. Moon is the satellite of earth. Rahu and Ketu are two mathematical points on the zodiac and the rest are planets. Modern Vedic Astrologers also consider the effect of distant planets like Neptune, Uranus and Pluto.

What is an Ecliptic?

The apparent movement or path of the Sun along the zodiac is called the Ecliptic. The ecliptic passes through the center of zodiac and is inclined at an angle of 23 degrees and 28 minutes to the center of zodiac.

What are Rahu and Ketu?

Moon's apparent path around the earth intersects the ecliptic obliquely at two points called the 'Nodes'. The point where the Moon crosses the ecliptic from south to north is called the ascending node or 'Rahu' when it crosses the ecliptic from north to south is called the descending node or 'Ketu'. These 2 points are 6 zodiac signs or 180 degrees apart. The position of these two points with respect to zodiac signs are of equal importance to position of other planets with respect to zodiac sign in Vedic astrology.

What is Ascendant/Rising Sign?

The ecliptic passes through the center of the zodiacal belt which extends 9 degrees on its either(north or south) side. The planets remain within the limits of the zodiac. The earth rotates around its axis once in twenty four hours from west to east. As a consequence, all planets appear to revolve around the earth from east to west once in twenty four hours. The zodiac with its stars and signs fixed upon it also appears to revolve around the earth from east to west once in every 24 hours. Thus, all points on signs and stars on the zodiac will appear to successfully rise in the eastern horizon and set at the western horizon once in 24 hours. Thus, for every point and time on earth there will be a unique point on a particular zodiac sign which will be rising at the eastern horizon.

When an individual is born, the point in the particular zodiac sign, expressed in longitude, which is rising at the eastern horizon at the exact time of his/her birth for the exact latitude/longitude of the place where he/she is born is the unique space time coordinate for the individual. This is called the individual's Ascendant(Lagna) or the Rising Sign.

What is Janma Rashi/Moon Sign/Moon Ascendant?

In Vedic Astrology, the exact position of the Moon at the exact time of birth with respect to the zodiac sign and the point in the zodiac sign expressed in longitudes will be Janma Rashi/ Moon Sign/ Moon Ascendant.

What is Sun Sign/Sun Ascendant?

Like the Moon sign, the longitude of Sun with respect to zodiac at the exact time of birth is the Sun Sign of the individual. Western astrology lays great importance on Sun signs and ALL YOUR ZODIAC SIGNS are your Sun signs as per Vedic astrology. The Sun sign on the basis of Western astrology and Vedic Astrology, will differ by one sign many a times. This is because as per Western astrology the zodiac is also moving, whereas, the Vedic astrologers considers the zodiacs to be fixed. The reason why this difference comes will be explained on the web page at a later date. Meanwhile, we are just mentioning this so that you do not get alarmed to see the difference in the zodiac sun signs when computed by the Vedic astrology.

This will be an on going page which will be updated regularly. You are most welcome to contribute your views and your questions for the benefit of all visitors on our site. Clairvoyant Readings

Many people nowadays want to seek answers for questions with regards to money, career, fortune, and success. That is why most of them seek the abilities of a clairvoyant. If you are one of these people, perhaps you also want to seek answers to some questions that keep bothering you; clairvoyant readings can be your tool. Although there is nothing wrong with clairvoyant readings, you should never let a reading rule your life; instead let these just guide you in making important decisions.

Clairvoyant readings are given by clairvoyants—people who have the ability to see things and events clearly through their minds’ eyes. However, a clairvoyant reading is not about seeing the future, although you can get some information about the future through it. It is all about seeing clearly; images of people, places, or things are validated for you based on what happened in the past or what is happening in the present. Your past and your present have an important role in analyzing your clairvoyant reading.

A clairvoyant reading can be very helpful if you consider it your guide in making decisions in the future. However, if you rely too much on it and expect too much from images of places, people, and things seen, this may affect you the wrong way. Instead of finding inner peace, you may get frustrated and devastated when things do not happen the way you expected them to be.

Having a clairvoyant reading can really help you gain insight on so many things pertaining to your love life, family, career, and money. So, if you want to know what the future has in store for you, let a clairvoyant help you.

Lucky Days and Numerology Am I Feeling Lucky

All of us have days when we feel lucky – when the world is on our side. Wouldn’t it be nice to know ahead of time that today was your Lucky day?

Numerology predicts that two kinds of days will be especially lucky for you, those which match your Life Path number, and those which match your Birthday.

Your Life Path number is your primary number in Numerology; it has similar significance to your Sun sign in Astrology. You calculate your Life Path number by adding up all the digits of your date of birth, and then reducing the value to a single digit using fadic addition.

For example, actor Orlando Bloom was born on January 13th, 1977, so his Life Path number is (2).

01-13-1977 = (0 + 1 + 1 + 3 + 1 + 9 + 7 + 7) = (29) = (2 + 9) = (11) = (1 + 1) = 2

For days to match your Life Path number, the Universal Day number must be the same as your Life Path. Surprise; the Universal Day number is calculated in the same manner as your Life Path number. Just sum up all the digits in the date, and reduce them to a single digit with fadic addition.

For example, July 5th, 2006 had a Universal Day number of (2).

07-05-2006 = (0 + 7 + 0 + 5 + 2 + 0 + 0 + 6) = (20) = (2 + 0) = 2

So, July 5th, 2006 was a Lucky day for Orlando Bloom, and anyone else who has a Life Path value of (2).

The other kind of Lucky Day that Numerology predicts for you is days that match your birthday. Here I mean the day of the Month on which you were born. If you were born on the 13th day of the month like Orlando Bloom, then the 13th day of each month matches your birthday, and will be lucky for you. Of course, your actual yearly birthday celebration will be particularly lucky for you. Many cultures believe that your annual birthday is a lucky day.

Finally, on a (9) year cycle, beginning on your 9th birthday, and including your 18th, 27th, 36th, etc. your birthday will fall on days where the Universal Day value matches your Life Path. These dates throughout your life will be especially lucky for you. Try to do something really special for those birthdays.

Anyone can calculate their Life Path number, and then wait for a matching Day to start that next big project, or buy that Lottery ticket. Because let’s face it – everybody wants to be lucky.

Clairvoyant Consultant

Do you want to know what the future has in store for you? Are you interested to know your luck when it comes to relationships, money, career and fortune? Whether you want to know if your spouse is cheating on you or if it is wise to start a new business in a certain locale, a clairvoyant consultant can help you.

A clairvoyant consultant is a person who has the ability to clearly see things and events that cannot be perceived by the different senses. The clairvoyant uses this ability to help those who are in need for answers to questions that are related to many aspects most especially love, money, and career. Nowadays, the number of clairvoyant consultants that provide readings continues to increase as more and more people find the need to understand some events in their lives that they could not easily figure out the answers to.

Aside from this, there is now a new trend on the Internet where anybody who is having software problems with his computer can seek support from a clairvoyant consultant instead of a technical support or a customer service representative. Some people prefer to call a clairvoyant consultant because they are fed up with technical support representatives who put them on hold for several hours and then pay fees only to be told later to reinstall the operating system. A clairvoyant consultant, however, can easily track down the source of the problem and give you possible solution.

Because of the power of the Internet, many clairvoyant consultants can now be easily found online. However, some are not very reliable. Take your time in searching and see if the clairvoyant consultant that you choose is a certified one so that you will not end up being taken advantage of.

The Eclipses

Eclipses mean changes, good and bad. Where they happen in your chart determines what part of your life they will affect. Eclipses bring significant events into our lives--marriage, divorce, death, birth, career change, etc. Solar eclipses usually mean new beginnings, and lunar eclipses represent finishing things. They are the universe's way of cleaning house, and bringing us in line with life's energy. Even "bad" events bring us to better places. If an eclipse falls near your birthday, the following year will be eventful for you. Also, if it is near your birthday or your rising sign, watch out for health issues. Be sure to eat healthy, get enough rest, etc. Eclipses can be felt a few weeks prior to or up to 30 days past the actual event. If you would like to order a transit chart, I can give you a detailed look at how the eclipses will affect you.

The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on September 7 will also be part of an aspect between Jupiter and Uranus with the Sun in Virgo and the Moon in Pisces. This could easily trigger an urge to do some internal housecleaning. We may begin to reexamine our faith and spirituality, or we may find that our connection with our higher power suddenly becomes much stronger. On a more material level, we may find that we are ready to invest in a new computer or electronic device.

The Solar Eclipse on September 22 will be in Virgo at the Karmic 29 degree point. We had better be ready to wrap up the old and begin the new, because ready or not, its going to happen. It is very likely many of us will take up a new health regime. Virgo's are inclined to health and hygiene. But, Virgo also rules subordinates. If you manage people in any aspect (including parents), this will be a good time to implement some changes you have been considering. Also because we are at the last degree before Libra, relationships may come to endings, or more possibly, new beginnings. If you are single and looking for someone, this eclipse may bring that Mr., or Ms. Right your way.

The Lunar Eclipse on September 7 will be at 15 degrees Virgo and Pisces. If you have any planets at between 13 and 17 degrees in Gemini or Sagittarius, this eclipse could be especially difficult for you. The Solar Eclipse on September 22 will be at 29 degrees Virgo. If you have any planets between 28 and 29 degrees Gemini or Sagittarius, or if you have any planets between 0 and 1 degrees Cancer or Capricorn, this eclipse may cause extra stress. Also, where these eclipses land in your houses determine what areas of your life that will be affected.

Clairvoyant Dream

Every individual experiences dreams during his lifetime. These dreams are experiences of images, words, thoughts, sounds or voices, and sensations during sleep; the dreamer does not have the capacity to influence the said experience. Dreams could be frightening, upsetting, and even stimulating especially if it is an exotic dream. However, there is another form of dream that people often have a hard time remembering or analyzing when they awaken; this is the clairvoyant dream.

A clairvoyant dream is an experience of images and sounds or voices where as a thing or an event is seen that has the possibility of happening for real. Actually, a clairvoyant dream is very hard to distinguish since many people have the belief that whatever happened in your dreams, the exact opposite will happen in real life. Only a gifted person, who has the ability to foresee a thing or event without the use of the senses, can easily say that such dream is a clairvoyant dream.

Clairvoyant dreams can be classified into two kinds: the warning dream and the anxiety dream. The warning dream is often a dream that looks into the future and foresees some sort of danger. In this kind of clairvoyant dream, the dreamer rarely appears in the experience. The anxiety dream, on the other hand, has something to do with what the mind wants to tell the dreamer. The mind unconsciously absorbs information and releases this information through this anxiety dream. In some cases, this kind of clairvoyant dream indicates a health problem that the body is trying to seek some action for immediate treatment.

A clairvoyant dream can be very helpful in order to foresee an event or better understand a problem. However, the sad part is that the dreamer is not capable of changing or preventing anything that is seen in the clairvoyant dream.

An Introduction To Clairvoyant

Do you want to know about your future? Are you looking for answers to questions that have been bothering you lately and giving you sleepless nights? Do these questions have anything to do with your relationship, career, money, or fortune? If you answer yes to all these questions, then you will probably need the services of a clairvoyant.

A clairvoyant is a gifted person who has the ability to clearly see objects or events that cannot be perceived by the senses. Only a few people are gifted with this ability, and so it is very reassuring to know that there are people who can help you understand the things that are happening and will possibly happen to you, as well as give you answers to bothersome questions. The clairvoyant can help you gain perspective so you will be able to see and think things through more clearly.

However, you should keep in mind that a clairvoyant reading should not be relied upon when dealing with life. A reading should just serve as a guide to come up with sound decisions and avoid possible mistakes. The choices you make each day will still be the main factor of what you will become tomorrow. Although there is nothing wrong in believing what a clairvoyant foresees for your relationship, career, money, or fortune, it is still better if you do not expect too much from a reading.

Finding a clairvoyant has never been easier than it is today. Many professional clairvoyants have taken advantage of the Internet and so it is easier to access their services. However, you should be cautious when choosing your clairvoyant so that you are not taken advantage of. You have to make sure that you choose a certified clairvoyant who can actually deliver accurate readings and not give you false interpretations intended to mislead you in any way.
