Capricorn Horoscopes

In this Tenth of a 12 part series on horoscopes, we're going to look at the first of what are called the winter signs, Capricorn the Goat.

People who are born between December 22 and January 21 are Capricorns. Their element is Earth, their quality is Cardinal, their energy is Yin, their ruler is Saturn, their color is Brown, their gem is Garnet, their main anatomical parts are the bones, joints and knees, their keywords are achievement, structure and organization, their Tarot suit is Pentacles and their Tarot Major Arcana cards are The Devil and The World.

Some famous celebrities who are Capricorns are Cuba Gooding Jr., Ricky Martin, Tracey Ullman, Kate Moss, Mel Gibson, Muhammad, Ali and Martin Luther King Jr.

It's pretty lonely at the top, which is pretty much where goats are. They love their solitude. They're very ambitious, organized, efficient and responsible. The flip side of that is they can be very cold, calculating, suspicious and rigid. They are also their own worst critics. A Capricorn will beat himself up over just about anything that he doesn't believe he has done as best as possible. So no need to point out their shortcomings. They will do it for you in spades.

The Capricorn must have security at all costs. In order to get this security they will step on anyone who gets in their way. This is an odd mix with a sign that can also be very kind. At the same moment they're telling you that you have a nice shirt they'll immediately follow that remark with a command to get out their way so they can go to the men's room. They are certainly odd in that respect. The good thing about a Capricorn is that if you have done them a favor, they will be forever in your debt. They never fail to repay an act of kindness.

A Capricorn needs approval from the whole world. So finding one who will commit to loving one person is not easy. But if you can find your way to their sense of humor, you will also find your way to their heart. This isn't an easy thing to do as their sense of humor is very dry. But once you've figured it out, half the battle is won. Once you are able to finally make your way to a Capricorn's heart, you have a very good chance of having it for life.

At the job, goats love to be in charge. Because of this, they make very good managers. Many rags-to-riches stories that you hear will involve a goat. They take great pride in being able to overcome adversity and turning nothing into something great. Howard Hughes and Aristotle Onasis were both Capricorns. These were two of the richest men of their time.

Aquarius Horoscopes

In this eleventh of a 12 part series on horoscopes, we're going to look at the second of what are called the winter signs, Aquarius the Water Bearer.

People who are born between January 21 and February 19 are Aquarians. Their element is Air, their quality is Fixed, their energy is Yang, their rulers are Uranus and Saturn, their color is Violet, their gem is Amethyst, their main anatomical parts are the ankles and circulation, their keywords are humanitarian, unique and revolutionary, their Tarot suit is Swords and their Tarot Major Arcana card is The Star.

Some famous celebrities who are Aquarians are Christini Ricci, Heather Graham, Edward Burns, Oprah Winfrey, Chris Rock, Mozart, Virginia Woolf and Paul Newman.

There's an old joke about Aquarians that goes like this. "How many Aquarians does it take to screw in a light bulb?" The answer is, "One and she has to use the latest technology to do it".

Yes, it isn't enough for an Aquarian to just get the job done. It must be done with style. If you're going to write a letter to somebody, the stationary must be the most fancy that can be found and the pen has to be custom made. The common things that most people use are just not good enough for a person born under this sign. Only the best will do.

The Aquarian is the crazy inventor herself. They are also quite eccentric. They are fascinated by anything out of the ordinary. It doesn't even matter how practical or impractical it is. If it's unique, they have to have it or at least take a look at it. Aquarians are the trendsetters of the zodiac. They will try something before most people even know it exists.

The Aquarian is also very much ahead of her time. They often will speak to others as if it's a tedious process because the rest of mankind is so dimwitted in comparison. Sometimes Aquarians feel like they are visiting Earth from another planet and that they don't even belong here. They often feel quite out of place and at odds with the rest of the world.

If you want to receive love from an Aquarian then you have to understand their need for their independence and not feel threatened by it. If the Aquarian finds the right partner, they can be very devoted to this person and very true. Aquarius is a fixed sign, so they are resistant to change. Therefore, once they find somebody who they are comfortable with, no easy feet, they are quite likely to stay with this person for the rest of their lives. The trouble with the Aquarian when it comes to love is that they will sometimes sacrifice their personal relationships to pursue what they consider to be the greater good.

At work, the Aquarian is clever and original. They usually excel at anything they do. Plus, they are also very creative. Because of how diverse they are, they can do just about anything from the arts to science to finance. They are also very good at humanitarian pursuits. Oprah Winfrey is a perfect example of this trait. At their jobs, Aquarians will always try to come up with innovative ways to do things.

Taurus Horoscopes

In this second of a 12 part series on horoscopes, we're going to look at the second of what are called the spring signs, Taurus the Bull.

People who are born between April 20 and May 21 are Taurus. Their element is earth, their quality is Fixed, their energy is Yin, their ruler is Venus, their color is green, their gem is Emerald, their main anatomical parts are the neck and throat, their keywords are ownership, dependability and sensuality, their Tarot suit is Pentacles and their Tarot Major Arcana card is The Hierophant.

Some famous celebrities who are Taurus are Jay Leno, Jack Nicholson, Michelle Pfeiffer, George Clooney, Cher, Andie MacDowell and George Lucas.

Can you say stubborn? Well, if you can say it and you know what it means, then tack the definition up on your wall next to a photo of your favorite Taurus. They are as stubborn as they come, thus the saying "stubborn as a bull". It doesn't matter if a Taurus is right or wrong. In their minds they are always right. Deal with it or get out of the house quickly because they won't give an inch.

Being a Taurus, however, is not just about being stubborn. A Taurus is the perfect person to have around in a crisis. While everyone else is losing their head on a sinking ship, the Taurus will calmly figure out how to get everybody off the boat safely. Their calm is almost scary. They are so dependable that they are the first people that one will look to when something needs to be done. If you're running a fund raiser and need somebody to make sure it is run efficiently and honestly, turn to the Taurus in the room.

When it comes to love, the Taurus needs security and stability. If a Taurus is in love, he stays in love, no matter how rocky things get. The Taurus will be very patient when it comes to finding that love too. They have to make sure that the person they give their heart to is just the right one. A Taurus will always be there for you but expects you to do the same.

The best matches for a Taurus are Cancer, Pisces and Scorpio. A person born under the sign of Taurus gets along very well with other people who are organized and dependable. They also appreciate somebody who is a good housekeeper as well.

At the job, the Taurus likes long term stability. They are not job hoppers. Many go into teaching where they enjoy the comforts of tenure and knowing that they will be in the same place for at least 25 years. They will do their jobs to perfection, or at least as close to it as possible. At the office, they are the ones everybody turns to when something absolutely must get done quickly and correctly. But maybe the best part of a Taurus at work is that they give their employers no trouble at all. They come to work on time, stay late and never complain, even if there are things they know are wrong.

Gemini Horoscopes

In this third of a 12 part series on horoscopes, we're going to look at the third of what are called the spring signs, Gemini the Twins.

People who are born between May 21 and June 22 are Gemini. Their element is air, their quality is Mutable, their energy is Yang, their ruler is Mercury, their color is yellow, their gem is Agate, their main anatomical parts are the hands, arms, shoulders and lungs, their keywords are mentality, communication and versatility, their Tarot suit is Swords and their Tarot Major Arcana card is The Lovers.

Some famous celebrities who are Gemini are George H. W. Bush, Marilyn Monroe, Clint Eastwood, Elizabeth Hurley, Rupert Everett, Mike Myers and Joseph Fiennes.

The twins. Split personalities would be a more accurate description. A Gemini is that. One minute he can be laughing up a storm and the next he can be ready to take a hammer to your head. It is not hard to feel that the Gemini is unstable to say the least. At one moment they can be witty, quick and flexible and the next they can be glib, sarcastic, fickle and downright devious. These are two sides of the same coin and it is way too easy for the Gemini to flip from one side to the other. It doesn't take them much. Sometimes, just a look will do it.

Because of this somewhat split personality, the Gemini will try anything. Mention a hobby that they would have never even considered, like stamp collecting and they'll be at the post office the next day to start their collection. They may be tired of it by that evening, but they'll still give it a shot. There is almost nothing they won't do. Of course this can lead to some big problems as sometimes this eagerness to get into anything and everything will land them in situations that are far from good. The Gemini can get into serious trouble in a heartbeat.

A Gemini in love is a contradiction in terms. Because of the fickle nature of the Gemini, it is very rare that a Gemini will fall in love with one person and remain faithful to that person for life. The norm for the Gemini is that they will have many relationships and almost all of them will be very casual. Getting a Gemini to commit to you and you only is a tall order. On the plus side, a Gemini can be a lot of fun to be in a relationship with because of their charm.

At the workplace, the Gemini needs many mental challenges to keep him interested on the job. Because of his fickle nature, he tends to get bored very easily. Also, something that challenged him yesterday isn't going to challenge him the next day. By that time the challenge is gone and he needs a new one. That's why the Gemini will often gravitate to fields that are very technical in nature like medical research. Looking for a cure for cancer is the ideal thing for the Gemini.

Entrainment The Key To Understanding How Astrology Works

This is possibly the most important law because it contains an explanation as to how everything in the universe, animate or inanimate, can be connected to each other.

As modern science endorses, everything in the universe is comprised of a swirling mass of energy. The density of these packets of energy and the speed of vibration of their component atoms and molecules, along with environmental forces, decide whether we observe an amorphous mass or a solid object. What also affects what we observe is us - the observer. The rate that our component parts oscillate have an effect on what we see.

The Hermetic teachings go much further than modern science has yet dared to venture. They teach that not only is all matter vibrating but that all emotions are a manifestation of vibration. Thus all thought, reason, emotion, will or desire are accompanied by vibratory rates, which may be lowered or raised at will by adepts.

In the same way that the vibration of a musical note can affect the atoms and molecules in a mirror and cause it to shatter, so it is postulated that man may affect the minds of others. If his thought processes are vibrating at a certain level then, through a well known phenomenon called resonance, it is possible for both minds to become 'entrained' or synchronised. This is often commented on in daily life when two people refer to each other as being 'on the same wavelength', or liking (or disliking) someone's 'vibes'.

According to Dr Percy Seymour, a Theoretical Astrophysicist, resonance is what makes it possible for a radio telescope to tune into specific vibrations in the Andromeda Galaxy (14 million, million, million miles away) and accounts for the Solar System playing a symphony of vibrations on the magnetic field of the Earth. It also foils the arguments of all those who believe that planetary forces beyond the Moon are too weak to have any impact on terrestrial life. Resonant Theory states that even small fluctuating forces can have large consequences, if the frequency of vibration coincides. This supports the main tenet of astrology, which is that personalities of individuals are related to the state of the Solar System at the time of birth*

Dr Seymour believes that the resonance between the tidal tug (due to gravity), of the very hot gases trapped in the magnetic field of the Sun and Earth, and resonance between the resulting fluctuations of the Earth's magnetic field and the electrical activity of the neural network in the brain, are what link celestial firmly to terrestrial.

Basically Dr Seymour confirms the theory of harmonics put forward by John Addey in 1975: All astrological effects can be understood in terms of the harmonics of cosmic periods. This frees astrology from its somewhat limiting twelve-fold straightjacket and allows us to understand how new planets can be discovered without changing the fundamental basis of astrological thought and practice. Resonant theory (harmonics) is the Holy Grail for astrologers because there is no astrological doctrine in classical or modern astrology which cannot be explained by it.

It also explains why we attract certain events, or people, to us who reflect the state of our consciousness. Thus, when we are angry we are more likely to attract the violence or car accident which we are resonating with. More positively, it is the explanation for miraculous events in that we 'entrain' ourselves to good unfolding when our thoughts are constantly kept at the higher vibration, or frequency, of love and happy outcomes.

Each planet and star in the Cosmos possesses its own vibratory frequency. Every object and every word spoken also has its own signature vibratory frequency, as does every living thing. Mars vibrates to a frequency similar to the number 16 -which in turn vibrates to the colour of crimson; which vibrates to Iron; which vibrates to the gem Ruby; which vibrates to the musical tone C Major, which vibrates to the flower hollyhock etc., etc. This is the basis of the astrological principle of correspondence.

Radical Responsibility The Inner Path to Global Healing

Earth is currently in the midst of a massive change cycle that will affect every form of life on the planet by the end of 2012. This period, which is also known as the ending of a 25,920-year cosmic cycle (or Cosmic Year in astrology), is a time when polarities merge, dimensions shift, humans evolve in remarkable ways, and earth rearranges boundaries once thought to be solid. It is a time of great karmic opportunity and unprecedented growth for everyone.

Across the globe, deep wounds in the collective psyche of mankind are surfacing to be healed. Societies hunger not for war or peace, but for Truth to cut through the illusions of polarity and to bring about healing at the deepest levels of being.

The clarion call is sounding, calling us to action. If we wish to have a future on this planet, the time to heal our world is now.

How do we do that?

Dr. David R. Hawkins, perhaps the most profound teacher on the evolution of human consciousness today, says that everything we see happening around us, is the consequence of that which we are. “Every thought, action, decision or feeling creates an eddy in the interlocking, inter-balancing, ever-moving energy fields of life, leaving a permanent record for all time,” he says.

We therefore change the world not by what we say or do, but as a consequence of what we become.

This realization, when fully grasped, offers a springboard for rapid evolution in consciousness. As did Gandhi and other evolved bings, Hawkins teaches that the most effective way of bringing about change in the world around us, is by living our lives like a prayer and becoming the very change we wish to see.

To illustrate the power of becoming, I’d like to tell you about one man in Hawaii who changed his world simply by living his life like a prayer, becoming the highest expression of being that he was capable of.

This man, Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len, cured a complete ward of criminally insane patients - without ever seeing any of them! He simply studied each inmate's chart and then looked within himself to see how he created that person's illness. As he improved himself, the patient improved.

When I first heard this story, I thought it was an urban legend. How could anyone heal anyone else by healing himself? How could even the best therapist cure the criminally insane?

I had always understood "total responsibility" to mean that I am responsible for what I think and do. Beyond that, it's out of my hands. Most people think of total responsibility that way. We're responsible for what we do, not for what anyone else does. Dr. Len practiced radical responsibility and the miracles that followed, were ample proof of the power in this perspective.

When Dr. Len joined the staff at the ward for criminally insane at Hawaii State Hospital, it was well-known as a dangerous place. Psychologists quit on a monthly basis. Staff called in sick a lot or simply quit. Workers would scurry through that ward with their backs against the wall, afraid of being attacked by patients. It was a nightmarish place to live in, work at, or visit.

During his four-year tenure at the hospital, Dr. Len never saw patients. He simply agreed to have an office and to review their files. While he looked at those files, he would work on himself. As he worked on himself, patients began to heal.

"After a few months, patients that had to be shackled were being allowed to walk freely," he says. "Others who had to be heavily medicated were getting off their medications. And those who had no chance of ever being released, were being freed."

Not only that, but the staff began to enjoy going to work. Absenteeism and turnover dropped. Eventually, there was no longer a need for the ward and it was closed.

What work did Dr. Len do within himself that caused those people to change?

He was simply healing the part of himself that created them.

To make sense of this radical concept, you need to understand that total responsibility for your life means that everything in your life is your responsibility simply because it is in your life. In a literal sense, the entire world you perceive out there is simply a reflection of what is inside you, and therefore it is your creation. There is no “out there” there – what you perceive as out there is simply a reflection of what is in your heart and in your consciousness.

This concept can be hard to swallow. Being responsible for what I say or do is one thing. Being responsible for what everyone in my life says or does is quite another, right! Yet you can only heal that which you take responsibility for. If you take complete responsibility for your life, then everything you see, hear, taste, touch or experience is your responsibility because it is in your life.

This means terrorist activity, the government, the crime rate, the economy - everything you experience and don't like - is up to you to heal. Seen from the world of consciousness, they only exist as projections from inside of you. The problem isn't with them, it's with you, and to change them, you have to change you!

This concept is central to understanding the field of human consciousness. We change the world not by what we say or do, but as a consequence of what we have become.

The Course In Miracles teaches the same principle when it says, “Seek not to change the world, but choose to change your mind about the world. What you see reflects your thinking. And your thinking but reflects your choice of what you want to see.” Why is it difficult for us to grasp this truth, let alone accept or actually live it? Because blaming another is far easier than taking total responsibility. To change the world, we need to first stop blaming others!

In his work with the criminally insane, Dr. Len never focused on blame. Instead, his radical practice of total responsibility was rooted in a deep sense of compassionate self-love. Dr. Len believed that if you want to improve your life, you have to first heal your life. If you want to heal anyone - even a mentally ill criminal - you do it by healing yourself.

He recognized the Divinity within himself as well as within every other person that crossed his path. And just as the Course in Miracles teaches, Dr. Len recognized that every situation, properly perceived, becomes an opportunity to heal. By recognizing the Divine nature of each being, he responded in compassion by taking responsibility for whatever did not reflect the purity of Divine consciousness in himself.

This is what Gandhi implied when he said, “The only devils in this world are those running around inside our own hearts, and that is where all our battles should be fought.”

How did Dr. Len do this radical work? Simply by looking at each patient’s file with deep compassion, accepting responsibility for their condition and saying, 'I'm sorry' and 'I love you' over and over again.

That's it!

This simple response embodies the core of all healing and evolution in consciousness. It starts from a place of deep compassion for self, progresses to radical self-responsibility for everything in one’s life, moves into forgiveness to dissolve false perceptions, and ends with the healing power of love to restore all to Divine perfection.

As we heal the wounds within ourselves that cause illusions of lack, duality, opposition and fear, our consciousness evolves to becoming a purer reflection of the indwelling Divinity. This work also raises the level of consciousness in the world around us. It is indeed through healing and transforming ourselves, that we transform the world!

When you start living from this place of radical responsibility as Dr. Len did, your life becomes a prayer. Polarities dissolve, archetypal shadows can be integrated, and the illusions of the mind yield to the freedom of your true, Divine nature.

This is the opportunity calling to every soul on the planet today. We are asked to become the very change we wish to see. To heal our world and safely navigate through coming changes, we are challenged to take full responsibility for everything in our lives and to align with Higher Truth.
