Chinese Astrology Compatibility

There is a belief amongst the Chinese community that those who are born four years apart are more compatible than those who are born six year apart. And those that are born 6 years apart are likely to be less compatible. Do you know why?

In the 12 Animals Zodiac system of astrology, our character is influenced by our year of birth. For example those born in the year of the rat are intelligent and suspicious while those born in the year of the horse are generous and loves freedom. Based on our year of birth we are imbued with certain characteristics that make us more of less compatible with each other.

According to the ancient Chinese, the Monkey, Rat and Dragon form a compatible set. They have characteristics that make them more compatible with each other. The other compatible sets are the Snake, Rooster and Ox; the Pig, Rabbit and Goat and the Tiger, Horse and Dog. If you check the year of birth you notice that they are four years apart. For example those born in 1964 are Rats, 1968 are Dragons and 1972 are Monkeys!

The Rat on the other hand is supposedly less compatible than the Horse. They form an incompatible set. The other incompatible sets are between Ox and Goat, Tiger and Monkey, Rabbit and Rooster, Dragon and Dog and between the Snake and Pig. If you check the year of birth you will notice that they are six year apart!

The Chinese astrology compatibility tools that you find on the Internet are largely based on the above mentioned principles of combination and clash. Most will also include more combinations and clashes that I have not mentioned above but I hope you get the idea.

What if you and your spouse form an incompatible set? Do not panic. Did you notice that I used the word ‘supposedly’ many times? In practice our character is also heavily influenced by the month, day and hour of birth which is not taken into consideration in the above examples. Therefore it is entirely possible for a Rat person to display characteristics of other animals (influences from the month, day and hour of birth)!

The Best Way to Give a Psychic Reading

The best way to ever give a psychic reading is directly from your heart. Millions of people are in need of getting a psychic reading almost daily. You have to just allow yourself to come forward in order to give someone a lot of love and a lot of psychic advice.

People that get psychic readings are usually interested in how you can help them to see something that may not be so clear to them. This may involve you spending more time during a psychic reading with another person or it may make you feel as though you have to discipline yourself in order to give someone an accurate psychic reading. Sometimes a good psychic reading takes a lot out of you spiritually. You often have to practice mind control and feel like someone is going to give you a lot of love.

A person that wishes to receive a psychic reading usually has some idea in the back of their mind as to what the psychic reading should look like once it is all over. If you find that sometimes you can’t understand something, then you should ask a master psychic who will be able to open your eyes to new and different things. A good master psychic will be able to show and tell you how to read better.

Becoming a master psychic is never easy. It takes a whole lot of discipline and a lot of meditation. You have to practice mind control on a daily basis if you are ever to advance yourself in a psychic career. The more focused you are, the more you will be able to focus on a clients problems and you will be able to better instruct them on what to do. A good psychic client will always allow you to read from your heart. Other psychic clients may give you a hard time during a psychic reading and pressure you to give them more information than what you know you are able to give.

Can a Psychic Predict If You Will Marry a Murderer?

With several murder stories in the news from Nicole Simpson to Laci Peterson and the unforgettable John Bobbitt, many of my clients have asked me if they are likely to have a marriage that could lead to murder. There is no simple answer to this question. After watching several news interviews of the victims in these situations. They all expressed coming to a point of feeling afraid of their spouse and no longer trusting them or their whereabouts. In some cases where children are involved, they expressed fear of leaving their children a round them when they were in a bad mood.

Many of these victims had problems moving on with their own life because their spouse consistently harassed them and would not let go. In other cases, their spouse was cheating, and decided to sabotage their own family as way of seeking revenge on the cheating spouse. I can mainly stress to you that if there is ever a situation where you are in a relationship and the contact with your love interest starts to escalate where arguments get out of hand, or they threaten you or taking their own life if you leave them, they refuse to disassociate with dangerous persons or display psychotic or irrational behavior, then you know it is time to check out.

This patterns need to be recognized early. In many of these cases, the spouses waited too long to leave and still entrusted their mate with responsibilities or watching children. From an astrological perspective there are signs that mix like oil and water. Where long-term relationships can be turbulent: Please also check your love interests ascendant. May be the sign you are born under may not be compatible but your ascendants are.

This list is only for turbulent love interests and marriages.

Pisces can be turbulent with: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Leo, Sagittarius, Aquarius and Pisces

Aquarius can be turbulent with: Taurus, Cancer, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius and Pisces

Capricorn can be turbulent with: Aries, Cancer, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, and Capricorn

Taurus can be turbulent with: Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Scorpio, Taurus, Aquarius, and Pisces

Aries can be turbulent with: Pisces, Capricorn, Libra, Virgo, Cancer, and Taurus.

There are 12 astrological signs and most of us are only compatible with half of the zodiac. Some of us less than half. It is important to choose your soul mate carefully and recognize the difference between infatuation and true love.

11 Ways Nurses Can Become Mystics

What is a Mystic?

Mysticism from the Greek (mystikos) "an initiate" (of the Eleusinian Mysteries) (mysteria) meaning ("initiation") is the pursuit of achieving communion or identity with, or conscious awareness of, ultimate reality, the divine, spiritual truth, or God through direct experience, intuition, or insight; and the belief that such experience is an important source of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom.

Traditions may include a belief in the literal existence of realities beyond empirical perception, or a belief that a true human perception of the world transcends logical reasoning or intellectual comprehension. A person delving in these areas may be called a Mystic.

In many cases, the purpose of mysticism and mystical disciplines such as meditation is to a reach of state of return or re-integration to Godhead. A common theme in mysticism is that the mystic and all of reality are One. The purpose of mystical practices is to achieve that oneness in experience, to transcend limited identity and re-identify with the all that is. The state oneness has many names depending on the mystical system: The Kingdom of Heaven, the Birth of the Spirit, the Third Awakening, Illumination, Union (Christianity), Self-Realization, Reintegration, Nirvana (Buddhism), Samadhi (Hinduism), and Gnosis, to name a few.

The term "mysticism" is often used to refer to beliefs which go beyond the purely exoteric practices of mainstream religions, while still being related to or based in a mainstream religious doctrine. For example, Kabbalah is a significant mystical movement within Judaism, and Sufism is a significant mystical movement within Islam. Gnosticism refers to both a mystical movement within Christianity and various mystical sects which arose out of Christianity. Some have argued that Christianity itself was a mystical sect that arose out of Judaism. While Eastern religion tends to find the concept of mysticism redundant, non-traditional knowledge and ritual are considered as Esotericism, for example Buddhism's Vajrayana. Vedanta is considered the mystical branch of Hinduism.

Born With The Moon In Scorpio

According to Astrology, the exact location of the moon during the time of your birth determines your emotional reaction to the world around you. While the astrological sun colors your outwardly aggressive actions, the moon dictates your inner, passive or receptive urges. The moon is your "female energy" - she represents the type of nurturing energy you project, and/or the type of mothering you received as a child. Today we will discuss the Moon in Scorpio.

The Scorpio Moon: Joy and Pain

The Moon is literally in its fall, or denouement, in this sign. For this reason, Scorpio Moon folks are known to grapple with themselves on the inside. They typically experience all emotions extremely, deeply and totally - ecstasy, sorrow, elation... and yes, their tempers, when provoked, can be explosive. To complicate matters, Scorpio Moon people regard their own emotions as a source of vulnerability and therefore try to keep their true feelings under wraps. So, it's not surprising that while many Scorpio Moons are traveling this earth feeling everything very intensely, they're also wearing this kind of detached look. After all, if they were to be found out, there would be very grave consequences indeed. What those consequences might be is anybody's guess... but if the Scorpio Moon is the one doing the imagining, it's sure to be quite catastrophic.

The Scorpio Moon, in a nutshell: intensity. Intense likes, intense dislikes, intense fascination, intense disgust... and yes, in keeping with the general Scorpio reputation, intense love affairs. This is a very black-and-white, all-or-nothing moon with extremely fixed notions about things. If you're loved by a Scorpio Moon then you are loved fiercely, totally and completely; but if you're despised by a Scorpio Moon, then you may as well not exist. And it's quite possible in dealing with this turbulent moon native that both emotions may be directed at you at different points in this lifetime. If a Scorpio Moon perceives that you have slighted them in some way... better make good immediately, or run and hide until the mood passes, because in all likelihood, revenge is being plotted against YOUR head!

The Scorpio Moon: Offsetting the Drama With Private Relaxation

Scorpio Moon people tend to go through life acting on hunches, "reading between the lines" - picking up subtle nonverbal cues, moods, intentions, underlying messages and such. Indeed, someone with this moon placement may get a very different meaning from the same conversation heard by someone with a more literal and pragmatic mind. This is not only quite distracting to the moon native, but when they react to these perceptions it often leads to undesired consequences and drama. Thus, the irony of the Scorpio Moon; being consumed by the very internal composition one despises in himself, and attracting drama-infused situations as a direct result of trying to avoid them.

A troubled Scorpion Moon person should allow herself some distance from time to time... a private sanctuary where she can sort out her emotions, get a healthy perspective and then emerge from the "cocoon" with renewed inner peace and a higher purpose in mind. Indeed, reflection and meditation feels quite natural to this introspective moon native and is encouraged as a way to take the edge off and temper the extreme moods. A deeply sensitive soul, capable of great courage and strength... there is much room for psychological growth and wisdom to be gained with this lunar positioning.

The Scorpio Moon: A Powerful Force for Good OR Evil

As with any sign, there are both positives and negatives to the Scorpio Moon placement. The sign of Scorpio has been assigned two symbols- the Scorpion and the Eagle. The former, a covert creature who stealths along the ground; and the latter, a symbol of power and might, soaring into the high heavens. Lows and highs... the Scorpio Moon is quite familiar with both states of consciousness... more than most, in fact.

Spiritually evolved Scorpio Moon souls can (and should) harness the gift of their emotional intensity and move proverbial mountains with it. If a Scorpio Moon person is intrinsically good, then that goodness of spirit can manifest itself in divine ways... extreme compassion and generosity toward fellow man, great and unshakeable integrity, impeccably honest conduct in business and personal affairs, and a permanent seat on the side of righteousness and justice. An enlightened Scorpio Moon will pledge his whole self to any and every cause he deems important; profess his undying faith to his family, home, country; and even make the ultimate sacrifice in a lifelong promise to serve God. Yes, this moon placement is often found in religious leaders, as the spiritual aspect is heavily emphasized here.

Less evolved Scorpio moons, on the other hand, are not averse to using abject means to get what they want. The concentration of power in this sign placement has led many a wayward Scorpio lunar native down a dark and devious path of corruption. In direct contrast to their enlightened counterparts; illicit affairs, illegal and underhanded dealings, petty and deceitful behavior, psychological turmoil, and loyalty to no one but themselves are trademark signs of the afflicted Scorpio Moon. Again, this is all due to the fact that Scorpio is in the moon's fall, thus making emotions feel uncomfortable, unnatural and all-encompassing. With the all-or-nothing theme at work, indeed this placement will produce some extreme results.

The Scorpio Moon and Sex

It has been said that sexual impulses drive the Scorpio Moon native moreso than other moon signs, perhaps because they radiate such passion and intensity that they're forever in need of release. The Scorpio Moon is equated with transcendental lovemaking or "soul sex" in which the participants experience an exalted state of consciousness by way of the physical sex act itself. Clearly, while "sexual nirvana" is hardly a day-to-day occurrence, this moon person has been labeled as having an extra potential for such achievements. At the very least, this moon person admits to having a high sex drive, even allowing sex to affect his or her decisions at certain points in life.

The Scorpio Moon as a Nurturer

The Scorpio Moon Nurturer is fiercely protective and psychologically all-consuming. Scorpio Moon Mothers, or "Smothers" as they are sometimes known, must learn to temper their intensity. If the Scorpio lover is possessive in her affairs, the Scorpio mother is equally possessive of her children. It will be her ongoing challenge to "let go." These moon natives must get a reign on that fretfulness that leads to strings of sleepless nights, and interfere less in the daily trials and tribulations of their young sons and daughters. Scorpio Moon Mothers must generally permit themselves to chill out, cool down and back off. An earth-sign or earth moon-sign partner can lend a comforting and grounding effect for the Scorpio nurturer who has let the worrying get out of hand yet again.

Other signature themes and preoccupations of the Scorpio Moon: secrets, mysteries, severity, psychology, power, control, passion, revenge, obsession, loyalty, sex, depth of feeling, ethics, spirituality, solitude, death. No, the Scorpio moon is surely not made of green cheese, but rather some of the most powerful facets of human existence. This lunar native must learn to embrace the reality of his or her own emotions as opposed to running or hiding from them. If the Scorpio Moon person can navigate his or her own spirit to a higher and more exalted place, he will recognize the potential for complete and total happines that lies within himself... and the transformation will be powerful for certain.

Astrology Signs Reveal Hidden Attitudes

An attitude is an opinion, a set way of looking at something. Your specific attitudes can be seen quite clearly in your astrological chart. For example, if Mercury was in the sign of Cancer at the time you were born, you would have a very different attitude toward the home than a person born with Mercury in Sagittarius. This is only one attitude. There are many more that are revealed by the various planetary positions in the twelve signs of the zodiac.

It is very important to know what your attitudes are if you really want to understand yourself. This information will also help you understand what attitudes you need to change in order to get along well with other people.

Obviously, some attitudes are positive, creative, and support your goals. They work for you. However, there may be other attitudes that you will want to change, or need to change if they are preventing you from getting what you want or obstruct your relationship with other people.

So, the questions is, "What are the attitudes that I have that are detrimental to me?"

A skilled astrologer can make all of your attitudes very clear to you and explain precisely how they tend to function under any given situation. This is extremely valuable information.

In all human relationships, we encounter some people who appreciate our attitudes because we support what they are trying to do. At other times, we have to work with people who have very different attitudes than ours. We are in conflict with the way they see things -- their attitudes.

Since you cannot change the other person, you will need to know what atttiudes you need to change to get along with them. The clash of attitudes that you experience with them can be fully understood if you look at how their astrological signs relate to yours. Your astrology signs, as well as the other person's astrology signs, will need to be thoroughly analyzed so that you will know what to do about your relationship.

These are extremely beneficial insights that a professional astrologer can give you. Your hidden attitudes, as well as those of other people, will not be hidden any longer. With the astrologer's help, you can become completely aware of what is going on inside of you as well as within those people who are involved with you.

The Month of Capricorn, 2006-07

The karmic planet Saturn guides our Sun’s transit through Capricorn, beginning on 7:22pmEST December 21st. Capricorn is our final leader on the Zodiac wheel, initiating winter as it begins upon the solstice. Collectively we are meant to learn patience, stability and wisdom over this period. Currently Saturn is in Retrograde, and for some these lessons may be harder to achieve, as Retrograde periods easily can allow blockages and challenges to achieving the positive aspects of that planet’s guidance.

While enjoying all the pleasures and finer things in life, Capricorn natives achieve them all through practicality and discipline. Like their symbol, the Goat, they never stop working, ultimately allowing our Saturnine friends to manifest the material as their reward. This cardinal earthen energy appreciates what is established and stable in life.

Organized to a tee, the ultimate goal of perfection is the outcome of whatever task a Capricorn sets their mind to. The natural urge to work rarely lets them have fun, and with the possession of a hidden and subtle sense of humor, their virtues are never far away. The conscious aim for integrity grants our Goats with a strong sense of reverence and duty to their agendas.

Keen in the capabilities to utilize, conserve, persevere, and concentrate, Capricorns attain one goal after another, often starting from a very young age. The nature is fatherly, just, cautious, economical, ambitious, and dependable. At worst the attitude is self-absorbed, scrupulous, suspicious, mean, snobbish, morbid and uninspired. Through the cultivation of sociability, buoyancy and effective self-expression, the typical Capricorn easily learns to have more flexibility and fun in life.

During this astrological month, Saturn, now in Retrograde, continues in its transit of Leo. We are asked to REflect and REassess in the house Leo governs in our astrological chart. Looking to any individual’s personal month numerical cycles, January marks the start of their repetition till March to reform what we have gained from last October to December. Over this period, Saturn is meant to aide in our self-reliance, settling karmic ties and mysteries, and ultimately allows them to come to the surface to be dealt with.

As time continuously evolves, whatever sign Saturn is transiting, is the area of life in need of cleansing that which is not serving us in our lives. Choosing resistance during these natural times of renewal only makes them all the more challenging to get through. Saturn grants us our LESSONS learned: for when we heed them NO ONE LOSES so there is NO LOSS.

Shortly after the Christmas holiday Mercury joins our Sun and Venus in Capricorn, while we continue forward in learning more of those fatherly wisdoms. Look for attitudes of the collective to be practical until Venus enters Aquarius, when values see a release; now able to be more inventive, original and humanitarian oriented. December 27th through January 3rd marks intensity in the house Capricorn rules in anyone’s birth chart.

Mars catches up with our Sun upon January 16th, allowing the collective’s drives to be extra rooted in discipline. Mars remains in Capricorn until February 25th, so again look to the house Capricorn rules in any birth chart to see where you’ll see an extra boost over this period. Mars accelerates and energizes, often bringing new ideas and beginnings while in any sign it is currently transiting through.

Mistakes are only lessons waiting to be learned. As we continue to learn through our experiences, once we KNOW: NOW we have WON.

Psychic with 9 Guides Reads Others, Teaches, & Heals

September of last year, I had a blonde woman about 30 years old, with long straight hair show up in my bedroom, sit on my bed and just look at me for a while. For lack of a better name for her, I named her Len, like the name of the alternative rock band that sings one of the cutest songs. She was visible, but you could kind of see through her, she was nice though, I could feel a lightness around her, but without her even ever having to speak, I knew what she was there for. I could feel vibrations from her and sensed what was happening. She was a temporary guide of mine. She stuck around...

Guides can be temporary or permanent, as well as they can be there to tell you about a past life or about something they want you to do career-wise. She literally inhabited my body in order to tell me what she had to say. She was very insistent about what she was telling me and since I had already been told what she was trying to tell me, I was reluctant to listen, because I had heard it when I was 20 and thought it was silly, so I blew it off.

She stuck around for days repeating herself and I realized I was hearing her from inside my own head, but it was a different voice, other than my own, and she repeated what she had to say until I acknowledged what she was saying. A few days of that, I acknowledged it. It was information about my own past life, my very first one, should I say. I was not into past life readings, before this, so it was kind of a surprise for me that she would repeat what I had already heard once before. I listened and she cleared out, satisfied that I had finally gotten the message.

A few days later, she returned… with a new message for me. A single word, “Kundalini, kundalini, kundalini, kundalini, kundalini…” and on and on and on and on. I looked through every single book I had in my possession. A channeling book was the only one that I had, in years of a collection of books and studying, that even briefly mentioned this kundalini thing. With reluctance to make her mad and have a need to come back and repeat it to me even more than she already had, I acknowledged that I heard what she was telling me with the intention of looking it up. She was satisfied and went away again.

Kundalini is serpent energy that is stored at the base of your spine, in your root chakra. A Kundalini rising occurs when the energy shoots up your spine out of your crown chakra. It can be painful with some really nasty side effects and it can take years to completely have your Kundalini rise up if it is not done properly. However, Kundalini rising leads to some very interesting psychic activity and awareness and something called Kundalini fire, which is a factor to healing. I learned to do those kundalini awakenings, to heal, either through distant, remote or hands-on method and to teach others to heal or teach. Only someone that has had their Kundalini rising can pass this on to others. With it, you can heal injuries and you can heal situations, provided that there are not blockages from unknown issues or problems that aren’t being dealt with, at the time. You can even heal those situations that stem from something in the past with Kundalini Reiki.

Tachyon Reiki is my favorite, though. Tachyon is zero-point energy, or equivalent to holy ghost or holy spirit energy, that when applied to any chaotic or disharmonized situation, zooms into and targets that disharmony and restores balance and harmony to it. It can be used for healing any situation under the sun. It is completely safe to our bodies. You can tachyonize water and drink it for better health.

I have had remarkable results in peoples’ situations with Tachyon. Even one from a criminal case where I was trying to work in the background. In this case, literally everything that could go wrong, did. It was unbelievable how ridiculously this case had been handled. It was stressing me and draining me because local authorities were just not hearing what I was telling them about it. I couldn’t get to the client to lay hands on them or directly apply the tachyon healing method to them, so I wrote this client letters and tachyonized the letters. I can literally go beyond prison bars, if I need to, to help someone, now. With months of Tachyon applied to the situation, the case is about to go back to court for an appeal. This case was one of the most challenging things I have ever dealt with in my life and my career. It’s going well, now, because I learned what Len was telling me. I can also help abused women and kids, being a survivor of it myself.

Astrology India

Indian Astrology has a history of more than five thousand years. Indians believe strongly that the stars govern their destiny and have immense faith in astrology. Astrology in India plays a very important role in deciding matrimonial alliances and determining the right time for starting new ventures. Predictions help you overcome misfortunes and provide a solution to overcome the ill influence of the celestial bodies. It is the guiding force at various stages in a person's life. Astrology simply shows the way in times of difficulty. It is merely a roadmap, and the individual has to make the effort himself to improve his life.

Indian astrology is nothing but the planetary chart of an individual. It is accurate and helps overcome bad tidings and misfortunes during the person's life. There are three main branches of Indian astrology, namely Siddanta, Samhita, and Hora. The study of planets and stars comes under Siddanta. Natural calamities, weather predictions, and rainfall come under Samhita. Another branch, the Phalitha Jyothisha deals with the art and science of predictions. The Nadi system traces a person's life history and future as written on palm leaves. This system is highly accurate but it requires proper reading by a skilful astrologer.

Components of Indian Astrology Indian Astrology comprises twenty-seven constellations in twelve lunar houses. The Moon plays an important role in an individual's life. The Sun, Moon and five main planets, namely Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Venus and Mercury along with Rahu and Ketu, the nodal points of the Moon are the pillars of Indian Astrology. The position of the Moon at the time of his birth or in a specific star helps to make the person's astrological chart. This decides the astrological star of the person and is important to determine the important major and minor sub-periods in his life.

Vedic Astrology Vedic Astrology or Jyotish is as old as about 1500 BC, long before modern day, astronomers as Kepler and Newton made their appearance. The principles of Vedic astronomy propounded that the planets revolved around the sun, long before Western astronomers. This and several other principles were far ahead of their time and still hold today. Vedic astrology has its basis in astronomy and determines the time of religious ceremonies and functions. There are instances of Vedic Astrology cited in the ancient Hindu scriptures, the Rig Veda, and the mythological stories of the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Jyotish literally means remover of darkness and knowledge of the divine. It takes a holistic view of life incorporating the present, the past, and the future. It is a search for the ultimate knowledge and seeks to understand divine truths.

This form of astrology takes in to consideration the effect of electro-magnetic celestial influences on an individual's mental and psychological being. The underlying principle is that an individual's destiny depends on his actions and it is his job to do his karma, irrespective of the outcome of his actions. Jyotish or Vedic astrology is therefore a study of the symbiotic relationships between living and celestial bodies in the universe.

Birthstones Birthstones form an integral part of Indian astrology. There are specific birthstones for people born in a specific month of the year. Some of the birthstones are amethyst, garnet, cat's eye, aquamarine, lapis, moonstone, pearl, red coral gomedh, sapphire and ruby. Wearing the right birthstone helps improve your life, finances, relationships and career. It brings mental peace and stability in thought and actions. Birthstones help to increase the positive effect of certain planets and to minimize the negative influences of other planets as per your birth chart. The proper birthstones emanate positive energy and form a protective aura around the wearer. However, you must consult an astrologer and wear the appropriate birthstone only as a wrong birthstone can have a negative impact on your life.

Indian astrology is therefore like a guide map to life. The planetary positions indicate our destiny, but ultimately we have to perform the requisite actions to get the desired results. Moreover, faith is important to ensure that the astrological predictions work for you.

Origins and Perceptions of Tarot Cards

In a world that is modern and full of scientific advances and experiments, there are still some long standing traditions that claim to incorporate mystic forces. People check their horoscopes on a daily basis live by superstitions and believe that there are some things that cannot be explained. A major phenomenon that is now back in fashion is the use of tarot cards to predict a person’s future and discover their past and present issues. 15th century Italy is generally believed to have been the time and place that the use of tarot cards began. The cards consisted of the Minor and Major Arcana. The Minor Arcana includes each of the four suits. The Major Arcana consists of 22 cards that do not belong to any of the suits. The trend spread across Europe and became extremely popular with nobility and commoners alike. Tarot was used to predict events and eventually became of particular use to people who were interested in the occult.

The association of tarot cards and the occult led to the belief that tarot cards were involved in the dark arts and certain religions began to ban the use of tarot cards amongst their followers. Tarot cards then became a secretive form of expression with people using the divination of the cards privately. More recently, tarot cards have experienced a renewal in popularity, as people are more likely to view astrology in a light-hearted way whereas in past times they were overly superstitious. Tarot card readings have once again become hugely popular with a lot of people venturing to have their cards read on a regular basis whether for fun or for serious guidance in their lives.

There is a huge market in this type of divination at present. Even on sites like Ebay, tarot card readings are available for sale. Occult shops often depend on the sale of tarot items for their main source of income and even regular bookshops now sell tarot cards and books on tarot. There is a certain fascination with divination in general and tarot cards can be attractive and appeal to a wide range of people. Tarot cards can come in all sorts of designs and colors and the collection of tarot cards is now as popular as the reading of them. Books giving instructions on the use of tarot cards and the different spreads available are now commonplace. There are even tarot parties where a group of friends hire a tarot card reader as the entertainment for the party. One of the party members may have some knowledge in the use of tarot cards and use their skills to give readings to their friends.

Tarot cards are now so commonplace that they are no longer completely associated with the dark arts and are generally viewed as a harmless form of divination. Gone are the misconceptions that tarot card readings are performed by unsavory mysterious characters. A decent tarot card reader does not give deep, dark predictions of unwelcome events. They should instead make the customer comfortable and give a general guidance without actually instructing the customer on what to do with their lives. As some people have a dependence on this area, the tarot card reader should be able to recognize when a person is not stable enough to receive a reading and should also have the integrity to then refuse the person a reading. It is an area where the are many con-artists and scams but like anything in the world, the majority of people should not be judged by other people’s actions.

Love Astrology and Venus

Love Astrology is becoming very popular as more and more people realize the potential of this ancient, timeless wisdom to shed light on life’s great mysteries. Relationships sure are that, a mystery. Free daily horoscopes in the paper do little to shed meaningful light on relationships however; in fact they are misleading and cause many to dismiss love astrology as ineffective or just plain superstitious. Yet for those who know better, horoscope compatibility is an effective way to understand the complexity of relationships.

Relationship Astrology Insights

Much insight into relationships can be learned even from just a cursory glance through the lens of astrology. For instance, astrologically, the house of relationships is the furthest thing from you in the Astrology chart. You, the subject, are read from the first house, the rising sign, also known as the ascendant. Your partner is read from the 7th house or the descendant. This is the furthest point from you in the chart. Similarly, relationships are perhaps the hardest thing we do in life. They are an attempt to integrate that which feels the most alien to us.

Universal wisdom knows that the only way we would face such difficulty or attempt such a Herculean task is if our desires were also the strongest; this is also the case. The seventh house, a house of desires. We want something from the partner, to satisfy our desires with them. The sexual bond that attaches us in relationships is the necessary glue that keeps us going back again and again to face this most un integrated part of ourselves. All of our guts are on the floor and the stakes are high in relationships, otherwise we simply would not do it.

In many ways, the process is quite silly. We care so much about what a certain person thinks just because we think they are good-looking or because of some physical "chemistry switch" that goes off. The person could be dumb as a bag of hammers, but if they are good-looking, or we are attracted to them, suddenly we want them to like us or find us attractive also. Another person could be the most intelligent, insightful person in the world-but if there is no spark, who cares what they think, right?

Venus, Bringer of Love

The planet of attraction, beauty and desires is Venus. Through the miracle of Venus our worldly, trivial association with fleeting forms of beauty and desire becomes transformed into selfless love, devotion to love itself. This love is one more concerned with giving, not taking. This deeper love is our true nature and the reason we suffer when our love fails. Falling short of this ideal is how we fail ourselves.

If we are to return love to its dignified place we need to honor the desires of another equal to our own and thus, compromise with them, also the realm of Venus. In order to get our needs met we also have to allow another to get their needs met also. We are willing to give up what we want now if we want to get more of what we want later. Venus in Astrology chart shows how a person's relationships unfold. Only Venus can transform our desire to experience sensual pleasure and gratification into the desire to please and help another person.

Venus is the planet that teaches us how to live on Earth properly, because she's the one who teaches us how to play fairly. The capacity to yield and remain loving in spite of our disappointment and frustrated desires is the miracle of relationships. When we are able to do this we feel whole. This is why few things are more rewarding in life than growing in relationships and dealing with those difficulties gracefully. We feel like we are making profound spiritual progress when we are able to succeed in relationships.

Man and Woman – Sun and Moon

In Brihat Parashara Hora Sastra, the Sun and Moon are described. Masculine energy is related to the Sun. Feminine energy is related to the Moon

Description of Surya. (The Sun) Surya's eyes are honey-colored. He has a square body. He is of clean habits, bilious, intelligent and has limited hair (on his head).

Description of Chandra (The Moon) Chandra is windy and phlegmatic. She is learned and has a round body. She has auspicious looks and sweet speech, is fickle-minded and very lustful.

Attributes of the Sun and Moon (Man and Woman) are compared:

* Body: The man has a square body; the woman has a round body. * Process: The man is filled with intelligence; the woman is filled with knowing. * Looks: Sun, The man has honey colored eyes; the woman has auspicious looks. * Constitution: The man is bilious (fiery); the woman is watery and windy. * Psychology: The man is consistent; the woman is fickle minded

Let’s explore these characteristics:

The Moon is the most changeable of all the planets. It is the fastest moving; it is different everyday. The round body of the Moon shows the woman's changeability and creativity. She is susceptible to rolling here and there, depending on which way the wind is blowing or other environmental conditions. Yet this changeability also makes her creative and adaptable, which helps the man not stay so fixed so as to become rigid. His square body shows the consistency of his actions. A square is a structure of support upon which other objects can be placed. This allows for vertical growth.

The intelligence of the man is of the mind. The knowing of the woman is of the heart. Intelligence comes from a rational perspective then moves forward. Knowing comes from an emotional place and generally reflects backward. This is why women tend to rely on memories. Men tend to want to move forward, looking for solutions, which are of the future. There needs to be balance and a sharing of both attributes, a thoughtful consideration of the past combined with an intelligent course of action for the future.

The woman's auspicious looks, attracts the man's honey colored eyes. Women want the man's attention and like attracting it. Men like to look at women. A relationship works best when the woman feels the man's attraction to her and the man wants to give to her. The woman's sweet speech and knowing attracts and supports the man's intelligence.

The man has a fiery constitution, which is related to competition, passion and digestion. The nature of fire is independent. It has the capacity to illuminate, purify and provide warmth. The nature of water is connective. It has capacity to sensitize, nourish and heal. Yet fire can also lead to anger and excessive desire. Water can also lead to excessive emotion, drowning in a flood of dependency.

She is fickle minded. The square body of the man reassures her. A square is solid and not so easily moved, thus when she is rolling around she would like to knock into a solid surface.

Relationship Astrology Attributes

These are essential truths, stripped of artifice and modern political correctness. Of course all people have both qualities of the Sun and Moon within them. But in relationships, the woman wants to surrender her Moon to the man's Sun and he wants to give his Sun to her Moon. She surrenders her heart to him and he surrenders his power to her - or NOT.

Each gender ultimately seeks to assimilate attributes of both male and female; but until our essential gender strength is validated in the partnership, we will not be able to relax and evolve toward our opposite. We all want to merge with that opposite energy, to assimilate the qualities inspired by our opposite and to inspire assimilation in them. We all want to be free and unburdened of the responsibilities of the limiting qualities of our gender, but this unburdening must come from a position of strength, not confusion.

Love is in the Stars - Relationship Astrology part 1

Relationship Astrology part 1 - Elemental Astrology. This is #1 in a series of relationship astrology articles.

Relationship astrology is nothing new, yet it is experiencing a renaissance these days as more and more people rediscover the ancient, holistic wisdom that astrology offers. Thousands of years ago, every culture used astrology. The human beings who lived on Earth at the time developed subtle and meaningful spiritual technologies; astrology was among them. Just as humans today develop technologies that bring about more convenience and entertainment, ancient cultures everywhere developed subtle and magical systems awakening. Astrology, as the science of universal energy and unfolding time, was chief among them.

Even the most cursory look at a basic Astrology book will show the importance of masculine and feminine energy in life. There are two female and two male elements in the astrology chart. Each element is repeated three times through different modalities. (Cardinal, Fixed, Mutable)

The four elements in the Astrology chart from the densest to finest are: Earth and Water (female) -- Fire and Air (male) -- LET'S LOOK DEEPER.

Feminine Energy in the Astrology Chart

Earth shows our physical body as well as all things that are practical, useful, tangible and material. Our life unfolds through our physical body and its needs are the most urgent when they arise. The element of Earth will remain at rest unless acted upon by another force or object. Earth provides the tangible structure for which our life unfolds, but it may also be the stagnant quality that prevents our life from moving forward.

Earth rules the sense of smell.

Water shows the flow of our senses into our environment and the deep emotional connections formed. Water is related to our feelings. Water and Earth together creates growth, in the form of plants. Plants provide food and sustenance for all creatures as well as oxygen for us to breathe. Water gives a connection to love and feelings, which gives rise to a caring heart and a compassionate life. Water rests upon Earth and nourishes it, just as the senses feed, and love nourishes, our body. Yet water may make us cling to fantasies, memories or emotions. Water rules the sense of taste.

Female Energy wants to stabilize, sensitize and nourish us, just like Earth and water. Thus women are generally the most interested in feelings, emotions, stability, and being grounded in their body and senses. When feeling a sense of lack in these areas, a woman's actions and thought's will tend to be inconsistent and hard to understand.

These feminine qualities of Earth and water are fundamental to any actions that come later. For both men and women, if we are disconnected from our deeper feeling nature , our actions (as shown by the male signs) will lack sensitivity and meaning.

* Generally speaking, when women feel good about themselves, they will do good things.

Masculine Energy in the Astrology Chart

Fire shows our passions, drives, motivations and digestion of all sorts. As water feeds the body, fire digests what it is fed. Earth and water creates plants; fire is hidden in the plants. Not only is food digested, all information and sensory stimulation must be assimilated and digested. This process of digestion creates heat, warmth and light that illuminates our path; or this fire may burn us or others or create smoke that obscures our path. Fire rules the sense of sight.

Air shows our thoughts, philosophies and motion of all sorts. Fire disperses into the air, into the atmosphere. The food we eat, after its digested leads to movement of all sorts, both in the body and the mind. Air is related to the breath, the vitality. The motion of air can have a worthy goal and bring great understanding or it can be scattered and devoid of meaning by disturbing our peace of mind and emotions (Think of air creating waves on water). Air rules the sense of touch.

Male energy wants to assert, comprehend and protect, just like fire and Air signs. Men are generally the most comfortable in situations where they can think independently and do something for themselves or others. When they are unable to think or act in a situation, their feelings will be inconsistent, unpredictable and hard to understand.

These masculine qualities of life are necessary if we are to grow in truthful identity, strength and understanding. Lacking a clear purpose and consistent powerful actions, our life will stagnate, lack direction and we will not grow toward a higher purpose.

** In general, when men do good things, they feel good about themselves.

In the Vedic sciences there are five elements; the fifth element is space. Space (ether) is related to pure consciousness, the witnessing self, which is not identified with the previous four elements. Space is the container of the other elements; everything exists in space. This is why we are able to perceive our thoughts and actions, watch them move and witness them. If there were no space between our thoughts or no space operating behind them, from what vantage point would we be able to observe them?

Space refers to our freedom and flexibility. We are not just confined to qualities of life on Earth. We have the free will to decide any course of action and observe our mind/body events.

Can Palmistry Be Used To Foretell the Future

Years ago, I saw a cartoon of a gypsy traveling on a train. While the people around her read books, she was busy reading her hand. Amusing as that cartoon was, I must confess that from time to time I like to study my own hand. I’m continually amazed by the way that the lines are constantly changing, reflecting things that have happened or are currently happening in my life.

About ten years ago, when I was traveling overseas, my plane ticket was stolen in an Eastern Block country. That night I had a tormented night of sleep. The next morning I looked at my hand and was surprised to see that during the night there had been a significant change to a travel line. This change reflected exactly what would now transpire due to the ticket being stolen. In this case, the event (the theft of the ticket) preceded the change on my hand. However, marks on the hand also warn of events that will occur in the future.

The most significant lines on the palm are the heart, head, life, fate and Apollo lines. Important changes in a life can be gleaned from the presence or absence of any of these lines; from their trajectory; breaks and markings thereon and their depth, width and color.

A palmist will find that the two questions everyone seems to ask are ‘how long will I live?’ and ‘will I win the lottery?’. Can the answers to these questions be seen on the lines of the hand?

One would expect that the life line would be the best indicator of the length of life. I once heard an interesting story. A man had examined his young son’s hand and noticed that he had a very short life line. This worried the father greatly and his fears were confirmed when his son drowned at the age of seven. As tragic as this event was, the man was somehow comforted by the belief that his son had been destined to live a short life.

On the other hand, another man with a very long life line was admitted to hospital with a serious illness. His wife studied his hand both on his entry to hospital and during his stay, and noticed that the life line actually shrank during this period of time. The man died soon after at a quite young age.

So, even a long life line is not a guarantee of longevity. If we are blessed with ‘good’ lines on our hands then poor lifestyle can undermine them, just as poor lifestyle can undermine good genetics. It does help though, to have a strong life line. This would be a line that is robust in appearance with no breaks and a consistent strength throughout its entirety.

One person’s life line was extremely robust in appearance until the age of sixty. After that time the line became stringy and pale. It transpired that the owner of the hand had indeed enjoyed good health until the age of sixty. However, after that age he found his health failing and now, at the age of sixty five, he felt that he had no energy and that everything he did exhausted him.

When islands appear on the life line they indicate a weakening of the life force. At the point where the island appears, the life force could be diminished in some way. For example, a friend of mine has a life line that has so many islands on it, the life line looks like a chain. Coincidentally or not, during her life she has suffered from many illnesses, some extremely serious.

Is it possible to forsee a lottery win on the life line?

A friend of mine examined the hand of a man who had won the lottery. At the exact point of time of the lottery win an island appeared on his life line. She was surprised by this sign and she told the man that rather than seeing good signs on his hand indicating a joyful win, all she could see was a bad marking. He sighed and agreed with her. Apparently from the moment he’d won the money he’d had nothing but misery. Everyone knew of his win and he was constantly being bombarded with demands from family and friends asking for money.
