Understanding The Zodiacs Birthday Ecards Shine Light on Sun Signs

Almost everyone is fascinated with the idea of exploring and understanding the characteristics and personal traits that are apparent in their behavioral manifestation. Most of us are familiar with our sun signs or the signs of the zodiacs, but with out any professional help, it is difficult for any one of us to determine the unique characteristics that are intrinsically intertwined with our personal characteristics, no matter how trivial it may seem, even our point of view, and attitude towards anything can be influenced by our zodiac sign.

Your sign of the Zodiac is determined by the position of the sun in respect of that particular zodiac, where the sun was situated during the time of your birth. Thus it is a pleasant idea to wish someone on his or her birthday with a special zodiac birthday ecard. Since, that person’s behavior and personal characteristics are the consequences of that particular zodiac sign; so it’s a nice idea to send an ecard that acknowledge the zodiac sign of your dear one, after all, if you really believe in it then the person is what he is because of his zodiac sign!

Before you go ahead and send a zodiac birthday ecards to your friends and family members, it’s a good idea to explore each of the zodiac sign a little, so you can have a deeper understanding and a better chance of analyzing that person’s psyche.

Aries: The characteristics and personal traits of an Aries are signified in its astrological symbol, a ram. Aries are determined to become successful from the very beginning of any venture. They are doers with amazing energy and enthusiasm. It can be difficult for the others to keep pace with an Aries but they are charmed by their vitality none the less. At times they can be a little harsh and inconsiderate to others. Aries can become stimulated and aggressive at the prospect of any challenging situation but if you take away the physical activity they tend to become miserable and demoralized.

Cancer: Cancerians are quite sentimental and emotional. They have a tendency to do things with a roundabout manner and during any hostile situation they mask their true aspiration until a more comfortable situation becomes evident. They can easily appeal to the emotions of others as Cancerians can make anyone feel close to them and inspire others with encouragement and support. They are very loyal partners but prone to mood swings and emotional volatility.

Libra: Librans are intellectual, strong willed and charming persons. They try to avoid hurting others and unpleasant confrontations at all cost, even if that means to postpone their immediate goals. They are intellectually stimulated beings; they tend to judge everything on an intellectual level, which may seem dispassionate at times. Though endowed with a good sense of humor, they get easily annoyed if someone makes fun of them.

Taurus: Taureans are stubborn and find it difficult to get accustomed to new ideas and customs. They have an uncanny ability to stick to a certain job until they get it finished. On a personal level they get very possessive about all their relationships as they feel concerned for their personal security. Taureans like to mix with people and have a good sense of humor.

Leo: The personals traits of a Leo are signified in its astrological symbol. The lion symbolizes almost majestic authority over everything. They rarely change their attitude or opinion on others request. Leo persons do not forgive or forget their offenders easily. But their kindness and passion attracts many friends and admirers.

Scorpio: Scorpios have the greatest emotional strength. Their strong will and the inclination to stick to something, make them successful in everything they do. Scorpios can easily exercise power and control over others but jealousy and excessive possessiveness are the weak traits of their personality.

Aquarius: Loyalty, intellectualism, fairness and objective thinking, these are the personal traits that Aquarians represent. At times they can be stubborn and averse to change but often their ideas and principles become the source of shared benefit for the entire humanity. They are often fascinated by unusual and unique ideas, though Aquarians can get too far away from reality in their philosophical and intellectual pursuit.

Gemini: Geminis are quite flexible when it comes to adapting to a certain situation. They have an uncanny ability to comprehend what’s going on inside others mind; moreover they are quite dexterous in impersonating others. Though lack of concentration is their vulnerable point but through their cheerful and friendly nature they enjoy a good social life.

Virgo: Virgos are good at adapting to changing situation and people. They are introverted and idealistic individuals. They are quite analytical and cherish a desire to improve almost everything. Virgos try to keep away from the spotlight but at the same time they can be quite good in negotiating.

Sagittarius: Sagittarians crave for freedom and independence in every sphere of their lives. They are quick and skilled in adapting different occupations. They are seekers of knowledge and wisdom. Sagittarians are always on the look out for any opportunity to expand their sphere of learning. They have an excellent sense of humor and appreciate wit even in gloomy situations.

Pisces: Pisceans are shy, sensitive and vulnerable. They aspire to be perfect in everything they do and often they have lofty ideals. Pisceans can easily blend with the changing circumstances and eagerly empathize with other’s feelings. In their search for perfection and ideal they often seek refuge in spiritual and religious pursuit.

Now, that you have a perspective of each of the zodiacs, you can quite easily probe deep in to the psyche of your friend or family members. You can now make sense, why that person behaved in a particular way on a particular time. This understanding about the zodiac throws light on the human behavior and makes you a better judge of characters. So if you are planning to wish some one on his or her birthday, it’s a great idea to gift a free zodiac birthday ecard, because the specially designed zodiac birthday ecard reminds us that the personal traits of that person are determined by the sign of the zodiac, after all we are all made of stars!

Astrology Planetary Cocktail Party

Signs and houses, planets and constellations, cycles and aspects: learn the unique flavors of each planet.

The Signs and Houses Ruled by Each Planet

In this lesson you'll learn to recognize the symbolic glyphs for the planets and signs, the characteristics of each, and the special role each of the nine planets and the Sun and Moon play in your chart. We will also talk about why it is important to pay attention to your ruling planet when you read a horoscope.

You'll need to know planetary rulerships and be able to recognize the glyphs in later lessons as well, so pay careful attention. If you like, you can download the table of glyphs below to keep as a reference.

A Planetary Cocktail Party

To give each planet a "face" in your mind, I'm going to describe the planets as if they were guests at a cocktail party. Try to envision their behavior and what they are wearing.

Although the descriptions are fun, don't forget the importance of memorizing the ruling planet for each of the signs and what area of life that planet rules. This information is fundamental in understanding the workings of astrology.

We will discuss the houses of the horoscope later, but since you may want to print out this section, the house of the horoscope each planet rules and its natural association are included.

Mars arrives, wearing his military uniform, looking quite dashing and handsome. He is muscular, fit, and has a walk that exudes confidence. His label is decorated with medals, and he carries a sword. Every woman in the party has noted his arrival because he is so masculine and sexy.

Mars, however, is only interested in Venus, who is in conversation with Pluto. He needs to get her attention but she won't make it easy for him -- right now she pretends she hasn't seen him.

At the party, Venus decides to sit down on a lounge of satin pillows. Doves holding bows of small pink rosebuds fly close above her and gently drop the flowers about her shimmering white shoulders. Her hair is long, curled, and held in place perfectly by three small, jeweled adornments.

Her dress is of shimmering, clingy silk. Were it not cut so marvelously, and from such gorgeous fabric, it might be mistaken for a nightgown. Her hands and wrists are adorned with pretty bejeweled rings and golden bracelets, and she has a soft, alluring scent about her.

Venus picks up a small hand mirror and admires her reflection. She is well groomed, stunningly beautiful, and her skin has an unmistakable translucent clarity and softness. She is a vision of sensuality and seduction and she flirts magnificently with the other guests.

Mercury, messenger of the gods and the ultimate journalist, has a pencil behind his ear, a 1940s hat on his head, and is carrying the coolest, most modern laptop (he loves the newest gadgets). He looks a little out of breath and apologizes to the host, explaining he had a deadline to finish before coming. Mercury strikes up a conversation with Jupiter. and talks enthusiastically about a recent assignment, offering vivid details, interesting asides, and tidbits. Jupiter is fascinated and predicts Mercury will win a journalism award.

Mercury suddenly turns to Saturn, who stands alone, and asks if he knows whether the host has a TV or not. Saturn tells him there may be one upstairs in the den and Mercury excuses himself for a few minutes to watch the news while e-mailing his story in -- his news cannot wait.

The Moon seemed a little wistful and perhaps even a little lonely when she arrived, still thinking of an incident that happened earlier. Her mood brightens after hearing the music and seeing some familiar faces.

She is wearing a d飯llet頧own of silk taffeta in silvery blue-white, reminiscent of the tones found inside a seashell. She is clearly a romantic, and when she walks by all the other planets can't help but catch a subtle whiff of her perfume. It is a hauntingly beautiful fragrance, and it reminds one or two of the others of a scent from the past, perhaps one their mother or an old girlfriend wore.

The Moon glances at Venus -- who is busy flirting with Saturn, of all people -- and subtly shakes her head. The Moon is more reserved than Venus, and much more nurturing. Concerned that some people might be getting hungry, the Moon glides toward the kitchen to see if she can help the hostess with some delicious appetizers.

Dressed in kingly robes of scarlet and purple, the Sun also wears a jewel-encrusted golden crown. He arrives last, complete with the sound of trumpets. He carries a scepter and looks thoroughly engaged with what is going on, and apparently has been looking forward to attending the party.

Sun asks the hostess if she will have any entertainment at her f괥, and seems a bit disappointed when she looks at him quizzically. He orders his assistant to have a musical quartet come over immediately to play. In the meantime, the other planets know they should pay homage to the Sun and quite naturally start revolving around him. The Sun expects to be the center of attention -- and enjoys this.

Pluto has arrived at the party dressed all in black, looking masculine and ultracool. He doesn't mix with the others at the party much, however, preferring to observe the group quietly. He is a loner, and staying off by himself suits him.

Mars has come over to offer Pluto a drink. Starting a conversation with Pluto, Mars quickly realizes that he is an intense guy, and passionate about his projects. Pluto apparently has had no trouble getting major funding for his new business ideas, either. Mars asks Pluto what he's heard on the street and Pluto gives him some shrewd insider info.

Jupiter is a happy-go-lucky, upbeat, rotund little fellow: he is, after all, the planet that expands opportunity and luck. Everyone is thrilled to see Jupiter, for he has brought generous gifts for all the guests. Each box is festively wrapped and delivered personally to its recipient. For a few minutes all the other planets circle around Jupiter and enjoy basking in his radiant glow.

Saturn arrives late: he's been working at the office and is still wearing his daytime suit. He is carrying his well-worn (but top-quality) briefcase. He's wearing a suitably low-key, impeccably cut suit, with a well-starched white shirt and conservative tie. He looks like classic establishment power.

Should the party turn out to be boring, Saturn figures he'll find an empty room and put in a little extra work before heading home. He is a serious fellow and hates to waste time. The other guests seem to sense that Saturn is a no-nonsense kind of guy; those that stroll over to him are there to ask for advice.

Uranus arrives late, too; nobody ever knows when she is going to show up. She shows up wearing the most interesting dress at the party. It's quite striking -- avant-garde and original -- but totally unforgettable in the best sense. Her hair looks like it was designed on another planet, and although is tinted a strange shade, it looks unexpectedly "right" for her in every way.

Uranus is whispering into a headset that is wired to a cell phone so small it is tucked into her evening bag. She is charming, witty, and a total delight. She is an intriguing surprise to one and all.

Neptune is a romantic vision in a magnificently creative cloud of pale blue tulle. She looks as though she's floated down from a cloud. Neptune is not here to shock anyone; she is poetry in motion.

Listening to Venus in a quiet corner of the room, Neptune is all ears and shows complete and intent compassion as Venus talks about her love problems. Mercury circles by Neptune and offers her the last coveted appetizer on his tray -- the spring rolls have been a big hit at this bash -- but Neptune demurs. She wouldn't think of nibbling the last one, even though she hasn't yet had one bite at the party.

My Thoughts On Astrology

Mysteries of the nature have always fascinated me. My inner has always been that of an inquisitive child who loves to ask as many questions about the nature of things as may be possible. Thinking of evolution, what I have come to understand is that the universe evolves, like a tree evolves from its seed at the time of creation, which contains all the future development and qualities within itself in a basic form. The growth and decline of this evolution can be measured with the help of time as quantities in the form of years, days and months etc. and the other aspect of quality can be explored through the science of astrology. Astrology then becomes a unique subject, which studies the most intricate problems of life in an amazingly integrated manner. Astrology basically deals with the quality of time.

When I was eleven years of age I started learning astrology at the feet of my maternal grandfather, Late Pt. Raja Ram Shastri who was a scholar of legendary stature. In October 2000, I started my own astrological consultancy under the name of Jyotish Anveshan Kendra and also started writing articles on astrology and other related fields.

The one question, which I have been asked most frequently as an astrologer, is that, “ do you believe in astrology?” I think that I need not believe in astrology or disbelieve because belief is for someone who is not aware of something, I know that astrology is for real.

People are a confused lot today about astrology as they are told one thousand and one different things by some people who influence their lives in strange ways through print and electronic media most of which is trash. One popular fad today is attaching the title of Vedic scholar with one’s name nowadays. One day I asked my maternal grandfather, Late Pt. Raja Ram Shastri of what he thought of vedic scholarship, he replied, “ Vyakarana is one of the vedangas which will take 12 years to read it out alone and then it is to be mastered and then again it is only one of the six vedangas each of which is to be then mastered separately. After acquiring all this erudition, one only becomes eligible to begin the study of Vedas.” What of the scourge of Vedic scholars today then? I do not think anything else need be said.

Under the inspirational guidance of my maternal grandfather I had also become inclined towards research work in the field of astrology. The questions that were raised against astrology in the name of science without any knowledge or investigation whatsoever in astrology proper made me determined to take charge opposite these so- called rationalists and scientists. Later I also presented a research paper on the scientific nature of astrology in the Third National Science Conference organized at NPL, Pusa in Delhi in feb. 2004. My research paper was also published in the NPL souvenir. Among the main problems that I addressed in my research paper were: -

1. Why is astrology required? Natural place of the astrology.

2. What astrology deals with?

3. The correct and incorrect systems of prediction in astrology.

4. Comparison of mathematical probability and astrology on the level of principle. Why astrology is a better predictive tool than mathematical probability?

Some experts in their respective fields like physics, chemistry, nuclear science, astrophysics and others deluded by what is known in psychology as the ‘transference of skill’ start condemning astrology without knowing even an iota of what is astrology. Such persons can be given no credibility in their views on astrology. Astrologers are doing no less harm on the other hand as they try to create a false aura of mystery around them and behave as if they have a divine persona and there are others who in the garb of modernism start condemning whatever they are unable to understand in astrology. Most of the astrologers have spread this misconception today that intuition plays an important role in astrology and calculations are after all just a means of stimulating your intuition. I do not agree with these people because if you go by intuition you do not need astrology because intuition is complete in itself and in the same manner if you go by astrology you do not need intuition because astrology is also complete in itself (if you know astrology).

What is practiced today is in fact a form of khichdi (hotch-potch) astrology in which zodiac forecast is widely prevalent, Sade- Sathi, Sign based lucky stones computerized horoscopes, computerized predictions and other forms of instant astrology which needs to be done away with. There is a great craze for computer horoscopes today but there is no awareness regarding its authenticity or otherwise. One day when I was sitting with a programmer of an astrology software I started noting down the calculations, which were programmed in the software. When I checked them I found that for combustion a fix range of 15 degrees was programmed in the software for every planet whereas the range of degrees for combustion vary with every planet and it also fluctuates which can be worked out with proper detailed calculations.

In my view, astrology is to be re- established on the pedestal of science (although it is already the most complete of all sciences), which can revolutionize the way we think and live.

Destiny and Tarot

Although people are familiar with the fact that nobody can escape from being responsible for his or her actions, hundreds of beliefs, philosophies, theories and speculation have over the centuries attempted to answer the question “Is our life’s course predetermined or are we responsible for our destiny?” No matter which view you support, it is important to realize that the two extremes, idealism versus materialism, and all the theories in-between them, deal with our greatest fear: our future self.

Since there is no right or wrong answer to this question, what one realizes, after studying some of the debated theories, is that all theories explain some parts and aspects of the world, but never all of it. Thus, more elusive theories dealing with the ability of the individual to interfere with what others consider as a static, fixed destiny line, has led people to philosophical debates, which led to some very interesting ideas. But regardless of how fatalistic you consider your future to be, the difference between the boundary lines of your past, present and future is subject only to your own perspective.

Some thinkers introduced the notion that the present is actually a thin line between the past and the future, which actually cannot be seen or realized by the human mind. That is simply explained if you consider that at the point you realize that something is happening –in your present state– it actually already belongs to the past. On the other hand, if something is still in progress its conclusion belongs to the future. But for most of us, the past seems to be static, fixed and immovable, while the future evolves constantly, remaining unknown, undetermined and subtle. The present is the greater mystery of all, moving at the highest speed imaginable that becomes more complex and mysterious the more one tries to explain and understands it.

Under this notion, it is clear that the Tarot motifs refer directly to fundamental human psychological and spiritual experiences. The more one studies them and practices their use, the deeper one's understanding becomes, and the more they resonate to the inner life, as well as to events in the outer life.

Primarily created to be used for enlightenment and the discovery of the authentic self, the Tarot cards can only give us hints on our present acts and the forces that influence our decision making process. Though we will probably never know our final course, this should not prevent us from using the Tarot cards to exercise our understanding of ourselves and the world around us and increase our wisdom. For the Tarot cards do indeed tell a powerful story: the story of the development of human life. Thus, no matter to which school of though you believe you belong, you do have to go through the journey of life well-prepared and fight the obstacles that might undermine your goals. In this universal story of self-actualization, each of us undertakes his or her way, following whatever symbolism speaks to us at the moment a situation is occurring. It is the same amazing flexibility to alter the meaning and the course of action that has allowed the Tarot cards and its marvelous symbols to survive through the centuries and be transferred to our contemporary times in order to assist our personal quest.

Some Facts About Tarot

The first question one might ask when the word “Tarot” is mentioned, most likely has to do with what is Tarot and how does it work. According to its practitioners, Tarot is a form of divination using a deck of cards, each carrying a symbolic meaning. Tarot is a window through which one can learn to see the future. It is best if one considers Tarot as a mirror that deeply and, for its funs, accurately reflects the feeling, dreams, thoughts and aspirations of a person. For the thousands who have been reading or listening to Tarot cards readings, Tarot resembles a guide that can help someone face the unknown landscape of his or her life. Contrary to many of its opponents, Tarot is not spooky or something supernatural. But where did it come from and why people seem to be drawn by its “magic?”

There are a number of different theories, stories, guesses, and assumptions, regarding Tarot’s origin, the exact sources of Tarot are not completely known. People that have researched on Tarot’s history, find that the earliest available reliable information categorizes Tarot as a card game played in Italy during the fifteen century –the oldest of found Tarot cards belonged to the Visconti family, rulers of Milan. But it is unknown when exactly Tarot earned its reputation as a device used for fortune-telling. Different civilizations over time, like that of Ancient Egypt, used images drawn on cards which were used to predict events through symbolic representation. There are some who claim that Tarot cards traveled to Europe from the Middle East through trading caravans or during the Crusades. But although the exact origin of Tarot cards remains unknown, the fact still is that Tarot makes some people, who do not believe that the future can or should be predicted, feel uncomfortable. Interestingly enough, Tarot has managed to survive over the centuries, although fortune-telling is actually forbidden by some religions and is considered incompatible with some spiritual approaches to life.

For a long time Tarot cards remained privileged to the upper class of society, but after the invention of the printing press the once hand-painting deck of cards became available to the masses. The typical 78-card Tarot deck is structured into two distinct parts: the major arcana and minor arcana. The word “arcana” means the secret or mysterious knowledge. Neither part is more important than the other, just different. The first set, major arcana, also referred to as the Trump cards, consists of 21 cards without suits numbered from 1 through 21, plus a 22nd card “The Fool,” which is sometimes given the value of zero. The second group, minor arcana, consists of 56 cards divided into 4 suits of 14 cards each. Further classified, the 14 cards in each suit consist of an Ace, nine cards numbered 2 through 10 and four court cards; just like the regular deck of 52-cards.

Today Tarot is used by many practitioners in assisting people to examine carefully their past experiences, explain their present actions and figure out how to better pursue their future endeavors. Although Tarot is assigned an illusive and mystical character, many of its proponents argue that everything comes from a person’s willingness to see things clearly and allocate the available resources to the areas needing his or her attention the most. If you are now convinced that you would like to learn more about the Tarot deck and its meanings, a plethora of articles, books, and online sources, exist to assist you in retrieving additional information, which can at least entertain you during a dull evening.

Free Tarot Card Readings

All of us want to know our fate. So many of us make use of tarot card readings because it’s not only about fortune telling, but it is also a form of counseling. But how much will it cost for you to know your fate? Are there any free tarot card readings available?

The answer is yes, and there are plenty. Many websites offering professional tarot services also provide free ‘do-it-yourself’ readings. These sites let you choose cards using your mouse – one each for your ‘situation,’ ‘self,’ and ‘challenge or opportunity’ position.

Some sites work differently. You are asked to give your name, type your question, choose a type of deck and spread, select your significator, and then generate your tarot cards from there.

Some websites give a general interpretation of the cards you choose, but others trick you into choosing cards and then asking for a fee if you want to find out what the cards mean. Some websites also require you to register for its mailing list before you can get a free tarot card reading. This is fine, for as long as they do not ask for financial and personal information.

Remember that the results generated by free online tarot readings are very general in nature, and may not apply to your situation. But if you are just looking for fun and broad interpretations, then these should do.

Free online tarot card readings will help you know your fortune and allow you to save money at the same time. So why go to those psychics and spend money when there are free tarot card readings? All you have to do is browse for sites that offer free tarot card readings, and your questions will be answered.

Psychic Advice

The term psychic was derived from the Greek word ‘psyche’. In earlier times, the word meant breath of life and was used in reference to soul and spirit. Subsequently, the meaning changed to refer to mind and emotions, which further led to psychology coming into existence. These days it is used in a wider sense and represents all types of mental occurrences, higher sensitiveness, hypnotic receptiveness, stimulated foresight and clairvoyance.

A psychic reader, commonly called a psychic, is a person who is considered gifted. A psychic is born with extra sensory perception or may have developed it during his or her lifetime. They are able to understand people’s lives by studying specific patterns in relation to the soul, spirit, mind and emotions. Psychics are known to be highly intuitive.

Different methods may help people determine if the psychic advice provided is comprehensive. After a psychic reading, people need to introspect and realize if all questions have been answered. It is important to ask as many questions possible so the mind is at peace. The setup and surroundings may at times be overwhelming. In most cases, this makes people agree in totality during a psychic interaction. It is important to sit back and understand the sequence of events before agreeing in totality.

The purpose of opting for psychic advice is to understand and address all queries in the mind. The event is meant to provide a healing experience and help cope with present and forthcoming circumstances. Hence, it is vital that people feel good about everything at the end of a reading. If people’s readings include unpleasant news, it is necessary to receive advice on how to deal with the problem. A complete and true psychic reading is almost always able to provide answers pertaining to any subject.

Consumption of drugs and alcohol will not provide good results. If a person has just been in a fight or is unwell, it is not possible to have a good reading. People should have a clear head and be in a calm space for a psychic reading. Having an open mind, to listen to and process what the psychic has to say, is also beneficial.

Productive and Destructive Cycle of Five Elements

The Five Elements

To be talking about Feng Shui, we have to understand the five elements; the relationship of the very five elements which bring about the formation of this Universe. They are the Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water.

All forms in this Universe belong to either one the above-mentioned five elements and are in one way or another, mutually affecting one another, which in turn affect our life. This is an ever-going cycle in the law of Nature.

The Productive Cycle

Water generates Wood:
The rain nourishes the Earth, bringing about the growth of the plants and trees.

Wood generates Fire:
The plants and trees are by nature, combustible matter which generates fire.

Fire generates Earth:
Under flames, article turn into ashes which form soil.

Earth generates Metal:
Soil contains minerals which over time, form metal.

Metal generates Water:
Under flames, metal melt into liquid state and likewise water dew is formed quickly on cool metal surfaces.

The Destructive Cycle

Water destroys Fire:
Water can extinguish fire

Fire destroys Metal:
Fire can melt metal

Metal destroys Wood:
Metal cut wood apart

Wood destroys Earth:
Wood can thrust into soil

Earth destroys Water:
Soil is able to retain water, preventing flood

Too much or too little of the presence of any of the above element is never desired. A balance is always sought. For instance, too much of a heat from the sun can cause drought while too much of a rain can inversely cause flood and so on¡K

Now, in the practice of Feng Shui, a balance is in the same way sought.

In the Chinese astrological sciences, the time, year and date of birth are categorized as under one of the five elements. Similarly, the five elements are also associated with colors, seasons and directions¡K

Based on the philosophy of the productive and destructive cycle of the five elements, the application of Feng Shui help to incorporate one's astrological element accordingly; to be in harmony with the surrounding, bringing about beneficial gains.

How to do Numerology

Numerology is a simple way to discover your future, opportunities that lie ahead of you, your purpose or destiny in life, and ultimately to live a happy and fulfilling life after doing your own numerology. Numerology uses numbers (obviously) that will calculate and determine different formulas that will derive an answer for yourself.

The number that has the most impact on your numerology reading is your date of birth. Numbers are also derived from your full name and will reflect who you are and influenced by. Your natural talents, strengths and weaknesses are also revealed through the numbers based on your name.

Numerology is primarily a self motivational or help toolbox that derives information about yourself that you may not have know and can gain insight on your future. It's a way to find out more about your inner self as there are many people that don't know their full aspects of life. It reveals these aspects of your characteristics, personality, purpose in life, and much more. Numerology can also give you a picture of what lies ahead in the future for you. Of course it should not be treated literally as its purpose is not to give you psychic readings that a fortune teller or professional psychic does.

Numerology has been around for many many years and people have benefited from the readings. There are others who may say that numerology did not give them any valuable information as most of the information was already obvious to the person. In any case numerology can be done for fun and also reveal some new information about yourself which can in the end make you live a happy and fulfilling life.

The Sun, Leo ... and Yes! The World Really Does Revolve Around You

The Sun enters the sign of Leo in late July of each year for a month-long stay. That is when all of the princes and princesses come out of the woodwork. They are amusing to watch; they delight us with their antics and they renew our sense of fun.

All of us are princes now and we want to take center stage to sing and dance. Whether your venue is Broadway, Hollywood or Main Street, you are enacting the drama of your life and you have the starring role.

Just as our solar system planets orbit the Sun, people with lots of Leo energy in their charts draw lots of admirers who like to bask in the glow of Leo’s light.

In fact, astrologers have long observed the similarity between the Sun’s relationship to its satellite planets and a traditional monarch’s relationship with his kingdom. Hence the Sun is considered be the “ruler” of royalty. Likewise, astrologers also consider the Sun the ruler of heads of state, heads of corporations, and business owners (in relation to their organizations).

Some customs are derived from this relationship. In the United States, for example, the president is inaugurated at 12:00 noon, when the sun is highest in the sky. A chart cast for the presidency then places the Sun, representing the president at the Mid-heaven or highest point of the chart where it is in a position of maximum power and visibility.

In its pure form, Leo is flamboyant, fun, and outgoing. It enjoys life and attracts others to its exuberance – much like the rest of the solar system is attracted by the Sun. Here is the place where we are concerned with individual self-expression.

And so when Leo energy is prominent in a person’s chart, you are likely to find the artist, the actor, and the musician. Gamblers, whether they do it at the blackjack table or on Wall Street, tend to have a lot of Leo energy.

Other areas ruled by Leo are childhood, play, and procreation. Creativity and play are related for we must be able to do the latter to access the former. Games, sporting events, entertainment, even romance, are Leo-ruled activities.

Although one can and should enjoy these activities anytime, the two week period following the New Moon in Leo is a particularly good time to initiate projects oriented to or incorporating these activities into your life.

If the Sun is like royalty, then the sign of Leo is the limelight. We take to the stage wherever Leo is. But the performer needs the audience as much as the audience needs the entertainment.

At heart, we are all creative beings and we all need to feel special. Even the lowliest stagehand appreciates a ‘thank you’ for a job well done.

The glare of the spotlight, the audience’s applause … this is heady stuff. The trick is not to let it go to your head. Under strong Leo influence, it is easy to forget that your world is the only one that revolves around you and that others have feelings, too. The line between ‘charming princess’ and ‘insufferable little darling’ is thin indeed.

No matter. Once you have made up your mind, you are right, and little will convince you otherwise. President Bush, with Leo rising, who stands by his policy decisions even in the face of daunting criticism, is an excellent example.

On the other hand, a little flattery goes a long way with Leo. (Did I say Leo likes the sound of applause?)

But during this time of year, regardless of the configuration of our charts, we are all honorary Leos. And no matter where the Sun is placed in your chart, it is the center of your personal solar system, beaming its shining light and warmth, lighting up your chart, lighting up your life.

The Sun Astrological Effects and Remedies

A brilliant globe of light rising on the eastern horizon and setting in the west with unerring regularity called the sun has awe-inspired mankind since its inception. This sole sustainer of terrestrial life undergoes constant fusion reaction on its surface as per modern science in which two atoms of hydrogen fuse together to form one atom of helium and in the process an incredible amount of energy is released. The latest scientific developments have enabled man to pursue his search for extra-solar planets about 90 of which have been discovered so far but without any confirmation of extraterrestrial life being present there primarily due to the lack of a special combination of factors like right distance of planets from the sun, right size of the planet, presence of an atmosphere and most importantly the presence of water. These studies further emphasize the uniqueness of our sun-earth relationship which is apparently purely astronomical in nature but in effect astrological too.

A great deal of our ancients’ attention was focused on the Sun who well recognized its central position in our solar system and also the fact that many such suns are scattered across various galaxies. These and many other astronomical and astrological facts of importance are well documented in our ancient scriptures including Suryasiddhanta.

In ancient lore, there is a story about Maya demon, who, after a long tapa was blessed by the Sun God, a part of whom appeared before him and granted him a boon. Maya asked to make him known the mystery and secret workings of nature and the science of Jyotisha was explained to him by the Sun God himself. Jyotisha contained both predictive and mathematical portions.

In predictive astrology, the Sun represents royal position, the king, authority father, Atma(self), Tanu(body) and especially the portion of head. Astrologically, if Sun is ill-placed or afflicted in any manner it can affect the abovementioned significations adversely but as taken in conjunction with its lordship. We will discuss in the course of this article positive or negative effects of the Sun with respect to different lagans(Ascendants), such placements and the Rajayogas(combinations for attaining high positions) it is capable of formation.

Aries Lagna: Sun is the ruler of 5th house for this Lagna ruling children, education and intellect. Sun is a benefic planet here. It can form Rajayogas with mars, Moon and Venus for this Lagna in the ascending order of power.

Positive Placements: Lagna, 2nd 3rd, 5th, 9th, 10th and 11th houses. Rest of the placements is negative.

Taurus Lagna : Sun rules the 4th house for this Lagna ruling mother, heart, domestic attachments and property related matters. Sun can form Rajayogas with Venus(blemished due to 6th lordship), mercury and Saturn in the ascending order of power.

Positive placements : Lagna, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 9th, 10th and 11th. Rest of the placements are negative.

Gemini Lagna : 3rd house is governed by the Sun for this Lagna representing younger siblings, prowess, shoulders and arms etc. Sun is a functional malefic here.

Positive placements : Lagna, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 8th, 11th and 12th. Rest of the placements are negative.

Cancer Lagna : Sun is ruler of the 2nd house ruling wealth speech, right eye, face and neck. Sun is a strong Maraka for Cancer Lagna. As 2nd lord, Sun is a neutral planet. It can form Dhanayogas( combinations for wealth) with Moon, Venus and Jupiter(blemished).

Positive placements : Lagna, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 9th, 10th and 11th. Rest of the placements are negative.

Leo Lagna : Sun is lord of Lagna for the Leo natives. It is an unflinching benefic here. Sun can form Rajayogas with Mars, Jupiter(blemished), Saturn(blemished) and Venus(slightly blemished).

Positive placements : Lagna, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th, 10th and 11th. Rest of the placements are negative.

Virgo Lagna : Sun is lord of the 12th here ruling losses, expenditure etc. Although 12th lord is a neutral planet here still because of being a Dusthana(negative house) lord usually it is taken to be a malefic.

Positive placements : 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 8th and 12th. Rest of the placements are negative.

Libra Lagna : Sun being lord of the 11th house for Libra Lagna rules gains, profits, friends etc. Sun is a functional malefic here. But as its significations are positive it is usually taken to be a benefic. It can form Dhanayogas with Mars(lord of 2nd), Mercury(9th lord) and Venus(Lagna lord).

Positive placements : 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th. Rest of the placements are negative.

Scorpio Lagna : Being lord of the 10th Sun rules government, father etc. for Scorpio Lagna. Here the Sun has got a special role to play. Being both the karaka as well as the lord of the abovementioned significations it can show accentuated effects of its position in these areas of life. It can form Rajayogas with Mars(blemished), Jupiter and Moon in the ascending order of power.

Positive placements : Lagna, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th, 10, 11th and 12th. Rest of the placements are negative.

Sagittarius Lagna : As lord of 9th house, Sun represents bhagya(fortune), foreign travel and fame for this Lagna. Sun is a benefic for Sagittarius Lagna natives. Sun can form Rajayogas with the Jupiter and Mercury as lords of Kendras.

Positive placements : Lagna, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th and 10th. Rest of the placements are negative.

Capricorn Lagna : Sun rules the 8th house for this Lagna and represents Ayus(longevity), suffering and diminution but under a special rule of Parashara Sun and the Moon are exempt from the Dosha(blemish)of 8th lordship. Hence Sun is a functional benefic but can be taken to be a slight malefic because of the inherently negative significations of the 8th house.

Positive placements : 3rd, 6th and 10th. Rest of the placements are negative.

Aquarius Lagna : The Sun rules 7th house for Aquarius Lagna. It represents marriage, travel, partnerships. Sun is a benefic here. It can form Rajayogas with Saturn, Mercury(blemished) and Venus in the ascending order of power. It has also been assigned Maraka powers and its connection with 2nd house can be especially harmful in relation to health. Positive placements : Lagna, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 10th and 11th. Rest of the placements are negative.

Pisces Lagna : Sun is lord of the 6th for Pisces Lagna ruling enemies, debts and diseases. It is a full-fledged malefic here.

Positive placements : 3rd, 6th, 8th and 12th. Rest of the placements are negative.

These positions of the Sun should not be taken as decisively positive or negative on the basis of the results given above without looking into other planets’ influence and especially Bhava degrees, the degrees of the planets and the power of the Sun in the horoscope of a particular individual.

Astrological Remedies for the Sun If Sun is negatively disposed in a particular horoscope due to either malefic placement, aspect or conjunction proper remedies can be performed to ward off the evil. These can be performed especially in the major or sub-periods of the Sun.

Mani : A good quality Ruby of at least 5.25 Ratti or 5 carat weight approximately can be worn in a gold ring on a Sunday. The weight of the stone should be in accordance with the power of the planet to bring evil to the concerned person.

1. Trial : First one should keep the stone for 2-3 days below his head while sleeping and look out for the indications he may receive in the form of dreams or otherwise. Then the stone can be worn in red cloth on arm or in the ring only after proper Shuddhi(purification).

2. Shuddhi(Purification) : The stone should be purified with snana(bathing) in pure water, unboiled milk, honey, curd, pure ghee and lastly in the Ganges water. Then Dhoopa, Deepa(incense) should be shown before wearing the stone. During Shuddhi(purification) of the stone one should constantly chant Surya Mantra to seek the blessings of the Sun God.

Fasting : This is also an effective remedy. While fasting for the Sun one should eat only once which can be sweet but salt is to be avoided. Something made of guda can be eaten. For the rest of the day one can take fruits, milk etc. fasting on Sunday in the aforesaid manner is said to ward off the evil. In my opinion, fasting should be continued for the whole of the astrologically affected period.

Charity : One should perform charity on Sundays for seeking positive effects of the Sun. For this purpose, one should donate red articles like clothes, pulses etc. in the quantities of a whole and a quarter(1 ¼ ). This can also be continued without break on Sundays.

Japa(Chanting) : Japa(chanting) of the Surya mantra can be performed with complete austerities. Usually, the number can be one hundred and twenty five thousand(125,000) but can also be its half depending on the power of the Sun.

Surya Mantra : Om hraang hreeng hraung sah suryaya namah.

One should fix the number, place and time of the Japa(chanting) for daily routine and strictly adhere to it. A Raktachandan Mala(rosary) and a woolen asana can be used for the purpose. One who performs Japa(chanting) should be a Brahmin and know the correct pronunciation of the mantra from an able guru.

Your Numerology Name is Cosmic

Pythagoras, the mystical mathematician, refined and built upon earlier understandings regarding the quality of vibration inherent in the nine numbers we ordinarily use simply for counting things.

Each number - one through nine - carries a vibration that has a certain meaning relating to the nature of the universe, and the nature of being in terms of the human expression. The sequence of the numbers follows a progression akin to growth, i.e. the development of an individual.

All these number/energies can be seen as carrying cosmic power into the manifest world. Each of us comes into the world on the wave of one of these energy/numbers. The day we are born represents a particular moment in cosmic terms, a particular and precise placement of the individual and our planet in the energetic field of manifestation. And thus, as in the science of Astrology, the individual has an energy signature, so to speak. And this energy signature represents the predominate manner in which an individual will be expressing during the life of the person.

Since there are only nine numbers out of which we express our birth-given creative energy, one might assume there are only nine human types running around on the planet. But this is not the case; for it is in our names where we find clues to our personality structures and our soul purposes.

The art and science of numerology makes use of the letters in our names to pin point the subtleties of our individual vibration frequencies. Each letter of the alphabet is assigned a corresponding vibration.

By converting the letters to numbers, we can begin to build a picture of an individual's mind-body-spirit profile. At this point, the Doubting Thomas in you might be questioning how one's name can provide so-called cosmic information [that is information coming from the Cosmic Mind of All Knowing] regarding an individual's mind-body-spirit profile. Whereas one's time of birth may seem less arbitrary, and thus understandable as something fated or destined, one's name, usually given by parents, seems to be rather somewhat arbitrary, or at least under the direct influence of the parents rather than a formulation having come from some higher source, such as one's Soul.

Numerology responds to this kind of questioning in various ways.

1. In most cases, parents generally consider it quite a serious matter when it comes to giving their child its name. They ponder deeply, listen to inner promptings, their dreams. They will consult other family members. Even when there is a desire to name the coming child after an older or deceased family member, the parents take into consideration many subtle thoughts and feelings. Even if the name giving comes out of some spontaneous inclination, such as naming the child after a favorite singer or movie star, or even a president of the country, or famous historical figure, such promptings, when looked into deeply, usually indicate an amount of intuitive activity happening within the psyche of the parent or parents. Therefore, it can be said that the name giving activity strives to impart in the new life a sense of its role in life or of its destiny.

2. In esoteric terms, it is said that the souls of the parents and the soul of the newborn, along with guides and teachers, have already formulated their life plans in the in-between stage, or life dimension of their soul existences. Thus the child's name along with the energy patterns the name represents has already been established before any of the souls involved have entered their physical existences.

3. And finally, one must consider the fact that a name, when spoken, carries an energy vibration in its most subtle form. And this sound imparts a subtle, intuitively understood message. The child, from infancy on, hears this vibratory message constantly. The parents murmur the name over and over. Eventually that energy pattern becomes imprinted into the child's sub-conscious mind. The parents have chosen the name as a consequence of deep intuitive urgings, no matter how superficial or flippant that choice may seem on the surface of things. The soul of the child has already made agreements with the souls of the parents, along with the help of spirit guides and teachers. The child is prepared to receive the subtle vibratory message that comes across when hearing its name spoken. And thus, the sub-conscious mind of the individual from childhood on is developing a hidden sense of the cosmic message for its Life Purpose, its Life's Goals - the reasons for its coming into the physical plane to express and learn and grow in a certain and precise way for the benefit of its Soul's Growth and Healing.

Is Zidane Insane An Astrological View On A Moment Of Lunacy

Over 1 billion people around the globe, and 69,000 people in a German stadium, looked on in disbelief as the French team Captain in the World Cup Football Final committed an act of sheer madness. Zinedine Zidane, was playing the final minutes, of the final match in his professional career, when he violently headbutted his Italian opponent, Materazzi, and got sent off in disgrace. What should have been, win or lose, his moment of professional glory has instead gone down in history as his moment of shame - one which will haunt him forever.

Many of the headlines gracing newspapers and media reports across the World on the subject include the words 'an act of lunacy.' And from an astrological perspective, indeed it was. The word lunacy comes from the Latin word for the Moon, Luna.

Zinedine or 'Zizou' as he is affectionately known was born on June 23, 1972 in Marseilles, France. Not only is he a lunar ruled, Cancerian but his Mercury and Mars also occupy the sign. His Moon is in the water sign of Scorpio in mutual reception with his Mars, therefore acting as final dispositer for his Sun. In other words this is one highly emotional man. My guess would be that the inflammatory comments of Materazzi must in some way have been directed either at Zidane's family, or his nationality, for no other planetary placements are more hypersensitive, defensive and reactive to this type of personal insult than these.

With the Sun, Moon and Mars linked in this way his normally controlled, enigmatic, family-man persona belies an aggressive, impulsive streak which can appear to emerge suddenly but which, on closer examination, is invariably linked to the lunar cycles. A connection between weather patterns, tidal rhythms and menstrual cycles have long been recognised and accepted as part of the close relationship between the Sun, Earth and its satellite, the Moon. Less widely recognised however are the other stresses and effects on the human body that the lunar phases exert.

The word 'lunatic' is defined as such because it was once noticed that insanity was brought about by the changing phases of the Moon. Hospitals know that admissions rise significantly around the time of the Full Moon due to an increase in emotionally driven incidents. Surgeons appreciate that blood take longer to coagulate at the time of the Full Moon and some avoid operating. Law enforcement officers know that a significant rise in arrests for violent disputes occur in 29 day cycles.

So, can Zidane excuse his behaviour by blaming the decision of FIFA to stage the World Cup Final less than 36 hours before a Full Moon - I think not. And neither should people who possess close links between the Sun, Moon and Mars in their charts be fearful that they might suddenly headbutt someone one day! No, to explain, but not excuse, Zizou's behaviour we have to see the Moon for what it is - a cyclical trigger for impulses which at other times might lie dormant or find positive, rather than negative expression in his life. Just as when he headbutted his opponent in Turin on 24 October 2000, transiting Venus was again in close aspect with transiting Pluto at the time of this match. These two planets link in with Zidane's Moon and were themselves in a tense alignment at the time of his birth.

The position of the Cup Final's transiting Moon (and that of 2000) in relationship to the planets in his horoscope alert us to a flashpoint. With the aid of astrological advice, Zidane could have been warned that he was more susceptible to acting on his propensity to 'lose it.' Forearmed with that information he might have been able to arrest his emotional reactions and perhaps have altered the course of World Cup history. In this way he would have been truly collaborating with his fate, rather than being a victim of his periodic 'lunacy'.

Clairvoyant Tarot

Clairvoyant readings have gained popularity over the years as more and more people find the need to know what the future has in store for them so they can make sound judgments and decisions to better improve themselves. Nowadays, there are a lot of ways to have your clairvoyant readings.

There are many clairvoyants who have taken advantage of the Internet to use their abilities of helping other people find answers to some questions pertaining to marriage, career, or perhaps money. They use different tools and techniques in giving readings—one of which is through the use of tarot cards.

Tarot cards are a popular means of looking into the future as well as into the past. You can trace the roots of these cards back to the ancient times. A typical deck of tarot cards is composed of seventy-eight cards of which fifty-two are referred to as the minor arcane; the remaining twenty-six are the major arcana. Each of these cards has a meaning; whatever card turns up during a clairvoyant’s reading will be used by the clairvoyant in determining your past and predicting your future.

However, you should remember that your future is not confined to what these tarot cards say. How you shape your future will still depend on the choices and decisions that you make everyday. The clairvoyant tarot is just there to guide you and give you insight as to what can happen to your future based from your past and present.

So, if you need a clairvoyant tarot, you can easily find one; there are many tarot reading establishments nowadays. But if you want easier access and more convenience, simply browse through tarot card reading and clairvoyant websites on the Internet to have wider choices. Just see to it that whomever you choose to give you a clairvoyant tarot card reading is really certified.

How Astrology Can Help You

Whether you call them your Stars, Sun signs or Horoscopes, all these terms speak of the same thing; the study of the planetary cycles as they affect a person, place, animate or inanimate object . Indeed any entity that has been 'birthed', whether it is a country, a company, a relationship or a piece of art is affected by cycles.

How can cycle tracking affect our daily lives? Well, just as a note sounded at the right pitch can shatter glass, so events in the celestial realms have been noted to resonate terrestrially and have a marked effect. Each angular relationship that forms between the faster and slower moving planets in their orbital cycles causes a characteristic resonance, which sets up a sympathetic response in us. The degree of resonance (also known in astrological parlance as correlation) depends upon the attunement of that which 'receives' it.

By way of analogy; adjusting your radio might result in your listening to heavy rock music but just a small shift along the bandwidth and you could suddenly find yourself listening into air traffic control. Similarly we appear to be attuned to certain planetary alignments and resonate disharmoniously with others. The result is that we all 'sing' a different tune. It is this tune that we know as our personality, but actually we are also all part of a great symphony. We participate in the orchestration, by the nature of our actions and reactions - our vibrations.

Sun sign and horoscope columns provide the most simplistic way of alerting people to the ongoing pitch changes and tuning adjustments needed. However, it is a symphony which needs continual adjustment, for not only are the planets moving in cycles in the heavens but the heavens are also moving, imperceptibly to the human eye, within the Cosmos. It is therefore important to only read horoscopes written by those with an in-depth understanding of how the whole Cosmos is interlinking with the current position of the Sun. And, it is far preferable to get a personal consultation.

When the planets change position in the sky our attunement alters. A vast body of empirical evidence tells us the most likely manifestations of planetary movements will be. We can take this knowledge onboard and adjust to a more harmonious rhythm, or else sound discordant like a musician who has lost his score.

Some might call Astrology the study of 'God's Great Evolutionary Plan'; a plan which calls for us all to develop our natural aptitudes and direct them in ways which will enable us to feel fulfilled. In this way we can be of the greatest use to society and Mankind as a whole.

By understanding just what 'note' each planet is sounding - and how this reacts with other planetary notes - enables us to feel less isolated. It is empowering to know that we are not alone in feeling dissonant 'energies' and displaying emotional responses at certain times. If we take more notice of the cyclical nature of life we can note the times when we are most susceptible to being entrained by certain rhythmic vibrations. In this way, when difficulties arise we can know that 'this too shall pass'. Knowledge of astrology is truly a gift. One which offers us the the opportunity to take responsibility for the harmony, or disharmony, we are hearing in our lives.

Chinese Astrology Explained

Are you confused about the meanings of Chinese astrology? Would you like to know more about this 5000 year old art?

Chinese astrology is based on the lunar calendar. As with astrology from other cultures, a horoscope is created using the position of the stars and planets for each of the twelve signs of the zodiac based on the year of birth.

The Twelve Chinese Signs

Rat

Rats are charming and attractive to the opposite sex. But despite outside appearances, they are restless and this sometimes comes across as aggressiveness. Rats are great with money, and love to pounce on an opportunity. They are also very generous to their friends. They love people and large gatherings and always have others around. They also run in many intimate circles and like to be involved in everything they can, leading them to sometimes attempt to do too much. They are good writers and speakers, and success comes easily to them.

Ox

Oxen are calm on the surface, but have hidden tempers. They are hard workers and are determined to the point of stubbornness. However, this makes them one of the most dependable signs. They are trustworthy, and easily move up at the office. If they don't watch out, they may not have much of a social life. They are not very adept at mind games, and can sometimes be led astray in romance. But once they find someone, they are steadfast and loyal.

Tiger

Tigers are energetic and unpredictable. Their wild side leads them to be the center of attention. They speak their mind and are always looking for the new party or next great idea. They are also very involved in giving their time and money to the causes they are passionate about. They are generous and honest. However, they are also rebels. They seek ideals and will rebel against a society they perceive as being in the wrong. They are emotional and impulsive, prone to romance as well as jealousy.

Rabbit

Rabbits are gracious and gentle. They adore quiet and peacefulness, and prefer a good book to a night on the town. Their sensitivity can lead to moodiness, but normally rabbits are great at keeping the peace. While they are quiet on the surface, rabbits are good at finding deals. They are sweet and can talk people into being on their side of an issue without argument. While they are cautious, they can also be friendly and inviting once they feel safe.

Dragon

Dragons have fire. They are full of life, and want to live life to the fullest. They are perfectionists and are extremely demanding of both themselves and others. They intimidate those who disagree with them, although they are very loyal to their friends. They can be stubborn, but they will let you know how they feel. They believe themselves to be B and loveable, and they strive to motivate everyone to live up to their standards.

Snake

Snakes are mysterious, often charming the opposite sex. They are graceful, and tend towards all things grand and cultural. They are private tend to look inward for their self-esteem, and are superstitious about everything. They are not penny-pinchers, but always have money on hand. Snakes are jealous when they find a lover, and will turn cold almost on a whim.

Horse

Horses are generally friendly. They love being the center of attention, and will keep others enthralled by their quick wit. However, they have malleable alliances, and will have many short-lived romances and friendships. They enjoy the change, and lead lives full of adventure. They don't like being tied down, and love working out and spending time outdoors. They don't like sticking to a plan, and will often take on too much. They can be impatient with others whom they perceive as moving too slowly.

Sheep

Sheep are peaceful people. They empathize with others' pain, and are easy to talk to. They don't like to rush, and will break if pressured. They do not like harsh words, and love to be led gently. While they are passive, they are also patient, and generally they eventually get their way. They always remember their friends and families and give thoughtful gifts. They often worry about what others think, and tend too spend too much.

Monkey

Monkeys are intuitive and clever. They are hands-on problem solvers, and a great deal of self-confidence. They enjoy succeeding at difficult tasks, and don't need to be talked into attempting one. The source of their success is their great memory. They are hard workers, and don't care what others think of them. They don't usually have many friends, although their success does attract people to them.

Rooster

Roosters are romantics. They are perfectionists and dreamers at the same time. Quick to see detail, they always love a challenge, especially if at first glance it looks impossible. They take great pride in knowing all the details of a subject that interests them, and are thus great debaters. However, they will never admit to being wrong. They also tend to step in and try to solve others' problems, whether or not they have been invited to do so. They like to always stay busy, and will work for whatever they have their eye on.

Dog

Dogs are friendly and are always up front about their feelings. They are very family-oriented and are extremely loyal to their friends. They will fight for a cause they feel is just. They are not comfortable around extravagant wealth, and prefer a loving home regardless of social status. Once you befriend a dog, they will be by your side for life. They are monogamous, and tend to choose their lovers wisely. They work hard and play hard, and know when it is appropriate to be doing one or the other. They are good providers to those they love.

Pig

Pigs love a social life. They have many friends, and tend to stay out of heated discussions and all kinds of debates. It's not that they don't have an opinion; they simply love to party and don't want to risk ruining the fun. They are good listeners, but are sometimes gullible and can be taken advantage of easily. This can sometimes hurt them in relationships. They are trustworthy and dependable, and stick by their friends. They are generous to those they care about.

The Five Elements

There is another layer to Chinese astrology that is less well known than the Chinese signs. Chinese astrologers use a 60 year cycle, made up of five sets of the twelve signs. The five repetitions of the signs each correspond to a different element, adding more intricacy to the animal.

The five elements are Metal, Water, Wood, Fire, and Earth.

In Chinese astrology, the elements are part of a cycle; one is not higher or better than another. In fact, they have a cyclical relationship, both in positive and negative ways, so that:

Water makes Wood
Wood makes Fire
Fire makes Earth
Earth makes Metal
Metal makes Water

and:

Water destroys Fire
Fire destroys Metal
Metal destroys Wood
Wood destroys Earth
Earth destroys Water

In addition, they can be openly aggressive and hostile:

Water resists Fire
Fire resists Metal
Metal resists Wood
Wood resists Earth
Earth resists Water

So now you know the basics of Chinese Astrology. Enjoy exploring your Chinese sign!

Rudraksha-the Panacea For All Evils

It is commonly believed that Rudraksha belong to the Rishis and Saints and is only of spiritual value. While I give due respect to this belief it is sad that few are aware of its abundant curative qualities both physical and mental.

Rudraksha the dried fruit of the Rudraksha tree grown in India, Indonesia and the Himalayan Kingdoms considered as a symbol of purity if used properly can remedy many a physical and mental deficiencies besides bestowing the wearer good health, fortune, peace and tranquility. It is however pertinent that the selection and use of Rudraksha bead calls for the help of an expert.

There is an interesting mythology behind the origin of this virtuous fruit. The story unfolds to us in the form of a conversation between lord Shiva and Lord Karthikeya. Tripura the ferocious demon who terrorised all the three worlds and the devas including Brahma and Vishnu was all prevailing to the despair of all . To end his evils Lord Shiva did meditate on the mighty Aghora ( The weapon of destruction.) for million of years, closing his eyes. Tears fell from his eyes and the the revered Rudraksha tree was born at his will and for the benefit of the human race.

Ancient and revered Indian texts such as Shiva Mahapurana , Shreemad Devi Bhagavatham and a few other religious scriptures give us a detailed account of the rituals and uses of Rudraksha. It would be difficult if not impossible to give a graphic account of the whole gamut of the uses and rituals of various types of Rudrakshas within my limited space allotted here . I however would like to share with you a few tips on the selection ,use and rituals of this sacred eye of Rudra the third among the omniscient trinities of Hinduisam. I give below the basic principles and rituals for wearing the Rudraksha as given in the scriptures with the help of the valuable advice received from my most revered and celestial Master Lord Nandikeshwara. I have also relied on my past 20 years of experience as a successful vedic astrologer.

Though most of the Rudrakshas look alike there is subtle difference among them. The identity and the uniqueness of the various types of Rudraksha are represented by their facets. Though it may be difficult for an ordinary person to identify the genuiness and the type of Rudraksha an expert can do this easily.

Fourteen types of Rudrakshas are commonly found in the market. They vary from one facet to fourteen facets. A few varieties of importances are discussed below.

Rudraksha with one facet:- (Yek Mukhi)

This is the rarest of the rare Rudrakshas and the most virtuous and powerful one. It is very costly and should be bought from genuine and authorised persons. It represents Lord Shiva and is used by people of high spiritual order, Rishis, sages and great devotees. It wards of all past sins and bestows the wearer with divine grace, enlightenment, virtuous mind peace and tranquility. It has limited use for mundane affairs. It helps cure the maladies related to an afflicted sun.

Rudraksha with two facets:- (dwi Mukhi)

Representing both Uma and Maheswara this is comparatively available cheap in the market. It is commonly suggested for conjugal bliss, mental disorders, bronchial problems and general prosperity. This do not call for any rigorous restrictions on the sadhaka.

Rudraksha with five facets:- (pancha Mukhi)

This is the cheapest of all varieties available in the market. It provides the wearer spiritual inclination, blessings of elders and the preceptors , financial success and release from all sins. This is normally worn as single or rosary of multiples of 27.

Rudraksha with six facets:- (shashta Mukhi)

This is represented by Lord Subramanya and the scriptures prescribe it to be worn on the right hand of a male and left for a female. It destroys the evil influences, oppositions, enemies, and diseases.

Rudraksha with eight facets:- (Ashta Mukhi)

Rudraksha with eight facets is normally prescribed for frequent ill health. Representing lord Ganesh the wearer is blessed with release of all sins related to immoral acts bestows virtuous character and leads to salvation.

Rudraksha with fourteen facets:- (Chathur dasa Mukhi)

Representing the universal Ardha Nareeswara concept this is the one that is popularly known as Gowri Shankara Rudraksha. Rare and costly among all types of Rudraksha it ensures the wearer all kinds of wealth , power and worldly comforts. People who aspire for mundane success ,money, fame and power may obtain this .

It may be clear for my readers from above that Rudrakshas are meant not only for the renounced or Mendicants (Sadhus) but also for people of all walks of life subject to the usual restrictions.

The wearer of all kinds of Rudrakshas is expected to be virtuous , calm and control his senses. He is advised to keep away from bad company , wine meat and cigars. Wearing the same on inauspicious occasions and with unclean body and surroundings may bring negative results.

Who can wear a Rudraksha ?

People of all walks of life can wear the Rudraksha subject to the general restrictions mentioned above. Contrary to the popular belief besides men and children women also can wear Rudraksha during the 10 reproductive days of their monthly cycle and women off the reproductive age throughout the month.

The selection and the identification of the Rudraksha should be made with the help of a an experienced person on the subject and Astrology. It is considered auspicious should the Rudraksha be received as a gift from the preceptor or person of high spiritual order along with proper Manthra(Divine Syllables) and rituals and the latter followed scrupulously to derive maximum benifits.

What is a Horoscope-a Small Introduction Into Astrology

"I’m Capricorn, you’re Leo, my mother is Taurus and the neighbor is Aquarius."

Does this sound familiar? I believe so. Nowadays, most of us know our zodiacal sign and the interest we have for this subject is continuously growing. But how many of us actually know what a horoscope and a chart are?

The answer: few! This is why so many questions and interpretations get born, a thing that ultimately leads to the defamation of astrology. You don’t need to be an astrologer to know some things about astrology, some elements that will help you.

This article was made for the specific purpose of explaining briefly and without details, what a horoscope is and what are the main components of a chart.

First of all, what does it mean that I’m Capricorn and you’re Leo? The basic zodiacal sign we keep talking about is given by the Sun’s position at birth. Therefore, I’m Capricorn because the Sun was in Capricorn when I was given birth. You can identify this when you make a chart. The chart represents the astral map of an entity (individual, community etc.) at a certain time. It contains a lot of elements that help at making a horoscope or an astrologic analysis.

For making a horoscope or an astrologic analysis you need three elements:
- The zodiacal sign
- The planets
- The astrological houses

At all this you can add a lot of other elements that bring more information.

The planets

There are 10 planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) and they represent a certain characteristic of an individual, a certain type of energy.

For example, the Sun represents our basic personality, our ego, the conscious, while the Moon represents our subconscious and emotions. So when I say I’m Capricorn, I actually say that my basic personality has all of Capricorn’s characteristics. But the fact that I have the Moon in Pisces, for example, makes my emotions similar to the zodiacal sign of Pisces. The same way, Mercury represents the mentality, the way we think and communicate; Venus represents the feeling and the things we like, while Mars represents our basic energy.

The planets form between themselves many angles and relations. These relations can be: harmonically (those of 60,120,0 degrees) and un-harmonically (45,90,180 degrees).

The zodiacal signs

There are 12 zodiacal signs (Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces) and I’m sure you know them very well. They represent certain characteristics that have a strong influence on the planets. A Moon in Aries will be totally different then a Moon in Libra.

The astrological houses

The 12 astrological houses symbolize the activity sectors in every person’s life. These are being calculated according to the hour and the place of birth. These can have different sizes (in degrees). For example, the 7th house symbolizes the partner, marriage, contractual relationships etc. The 10th is the house of carrier and social elevation.

About the houses, there is an aspect that was a mandatory role: the first grade of a house is called cusps (or cuspis). There are 4 big cusps: the Ascendant (1st house), the Middle of the sky (10th house), the Descendant (7th house) and the Bottom of the sky (4th house). The one most known is the Ascendant, which according to the zodiacal sign it’s in, it symbolizes the qualities one must gain during this lifetime.

To make an astrological analyze, one must count all this factors plus a lot of others a thing that depends on each astrologer in part.

The idea of this article was to show you that each individual is unique in its own way and not all from the same zodiacal sign are the same. Also the prediction on TV or on the newspapers even thought they might be correct, don’t apply to all during that period of time.

Creating Superfolk III

"Our lives are gifts from God. What we do with our lives is our gift to God." I have seen this expression on wall hangings and I think it a very useful and positive sentiment to hold. If this sounds right to us, it then stands to reason that our children are also gifts from God and what we do with them is our gift to God. Our mission and purpose in the parental role would seem to be to maximize the value of our gifts. If we would tell ourselves each day how blessed we are to have the children we do, or may have some day, we see our duty to them quite clearly and we live this core belief.

When we love our children, all children in this way, we increase their value far beyond gold, silver and precious stones. We begin overturning a three thousand year old system of slavery and oppression. If we pass our love of children to our children, we guarantee a revolution that elevates all of humankind. Who ever thought that parenting could create a non-violent revolution in less than two full generations? We have been placing all our hope in an educational system to increase the value of our children. In vain have we done so. The past century has done little to increase the market value of people. More of the same will have the same result. If our educational system does anything, it increases the market value of American slaves above that of many non American slaves. These slaves can then take pride in their superior value. It is profitable to have slaves who love to compete.

When parents assume the responsibility for educating their own children, they have tools that have never been freely available to parents before due to conflicts between organized religion and parapsychology; and conflicts between science and parapsychology. Those conflicts are now being resolved as religion and science lose their strangleholds on the minds of the people. This in itself, is as revolutionary as the Protestant Reformation.

I once had a brief discussion with a fundamentalist Christian friend about astrology. I said that if the moon's gravity moves oceans and large bodies of water here on earth, it makes sense that force may have an effect on humanity as well. My friend immediately tried to imply that astrology is what the Bible calls sorcery and witchcraft and is abhorred by God. In response, I pointed to the earliest chapters of the book of Genesis and how God gave us the lights of heaven for SIGNS and seasons. His response was simply anger. All he really knew about astrology was what some authority had told him. He made that belief his own and had a powerful need to defend it. I gave him no opportunity with my response. For the Scripture does not restrict signs and seasons to day, night, Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall, months and years.

We learned much of this from astronomy over thousands of years. Our scientific authorities tell us astronomy is a science, meaning we can trust it. At the same time, they tell us astrology, which developed right alongside astronomy, is hokum. This authority obviously influenced my friend. It wasn't all that long ago, I too judged astrology by those little newspaper horoscopes that could not possibly apply to a whole twelfth of the people on earth.

When I borrowed a good book on the subject of astrology, I came to see a great value in understanding myself and others. I saw myself clearly in my own birth chart. I began doing birth charts for people I knew well, like family members and close friends. Their charts also described them better than I could possibly have done. I soon knew a whole lot more about who they were and why they were as they were. That made it so much easier to accept what I did not like about them and helped me see most of what I didn't like in them, I did not like in me.

Astrology does not cast destiny in stone, it points out our natural tendencies, likes and dislikes. We can change anything we want in our make up, once we see a problem or a need to change. Astrology helps us see better. It warns us of problems that will likely surface in our lives and helps us avoid or deal with them. It increases our options and choices. One does not need to study the science of astrology to use the information professional astrologers will supply for a reasonable fee.

Not long after learning some about astrology, I was introduced to numerology, a very simple mathematical system that paints a reasonably accurate picture of one's true purpose, tendencies, lifestyle, talents, abilities, likes and dislikes. I sometimes think of numerology as shortcut astrology. One can do charts day and night with the help of a good book on the subject. My experience so far is these two systems reveal very useful information.

As we come to know ourselves better, we experience growth in all aspects of our lives, usually positive but not necessarily apparent - at first. We also become more tolerant of what we have seen as personal flaws, because we find new paths for correction. Now we want to see them clearly. We want to know how they developed. We actually care about who we are, instead of what we think we are. We have always wanted trustworthy guidance. It is available to those who seek its grace. Children can be taught who they are in infancy, once the parents take the trouble to know about the new addition to the family. We are conditioned to think a child's education begins with school, but it begins in the womb. Is the outside environment peaceful, interesting, stressful? Baby knows these things and more without being taught.

Read to the child in the womb. Sing to the child in the womb. Make music for the child in the womb. Play music for the child in the womb. Why not give birth to a wise child when it is so easy to do?

And how about those robustly healthy babies some folks seem to be blessed with? Would we like ours to be robust? There is much we can do to achieve such an outcome. My theory is the physical health of the parents at the time of conception, affects the growth and development of baby. From the time of the confirmation of pregnancy, mother's health is worth all we can do to support it. Let's trade a little gold and silver for baby. Baby will soon pay back many times over.

When mother breast feeds baby, she maintains health with super nutrition, exercise, peace and rest. Baby thrives and rapidly grows. We continue reading, singing, playing to baby. Baby is happy and easy to live with. Baby is a joy to behold. Baby is an awesome miracle that happened to us. Baby is a repeatable miracle. From the family point of view, the more the merrier.

I have intuitively thought that mom should have two years to recover from the last miracle and a minimum of one before the next conception, if a couple desires closely spaced children.
